Relating to my earlier post about my horse insurance excess and not paying hospital livery costs, im wondering what you guys pay for your insurance?
And do you cover your horse for his true value, and include loss of use and any exra's such as tack or personal cover?

18yo boy is £68 yr for death, public liability and rider cover - no vets fees
12yo ISH mare is £320/yr for full cover, vets fees, tack and trailer, excess is only £125
My mare is covered for £3500 as she now has spavin so I reduced the value as I reckoned they wouldn't pay out on the £5000 she was originally valued at - basically they confirmed my thoughts when I contacted them to discuss it.

I'm with Scottish Equestrian for the old girl and Rural insurance for the old man.

I use NFU, they were the cheapest to quote. Mine is insured for £8k which is below his value but I couldnt afford much more monthly!! Costs me just over £100 a month (think £108 / £110 or something). He's insured for the 3 main ones only (loss of horse, loss of use and vets fees). Am I being ripped off?! Everyone else pays hardly anything - what value are you putting your horses for?
