what do you pay?

I used to charge 3 girls £20 a week between the 3 of them and they could ride whenever they liked so long as they sorted it between them - they all became friends and generally rode everyday of the holidays together. The pony was still kept at mine and the £20 a week was all inclusive. It all worked really well :)

i mean if you ride 2/3/4 times a week?

Before our loan pony moved to our yard I used to pay £20 a week and I could take the rugrats down whenever I could... For me it was a way of 'testing' if they'd be as interested in the stable duties as the riding before taking one on with full time responsibility...

:)

I expect my sharers to pay £15 for a weekend day and £10 for a weekday. Horses are on full livery so all they need to do is groom, ride and tidy away tack. I encourage them to compete, hack etc and will take them but they cover entry fees etc.
I pay for everything concerning the horses, incl their affiliation fees...

I've had a sharer for one of nine. She paid 30p.wk and could come as often as she liked, which was usually a minimum of 5days. I also used to take her with me to the local xc course and local shows. It worked really well, as although it didn't cover my horses weekly costs it meant she had a regular rider and the sharer virtually had her own horse without the full oylutlay so we were both happy with this.

Sadly she had to give up as she's going off on a round the world trip. Same mare is now on full loan to someone on my yard... All I pay for is her insurance and vaccinations etc

I have a sharer, well 2 young sisters. They have Bailey 2/3 times a week to do whatever they like with, and I try and give them lessons and they compete and go xc schooling etc when they can. He is safe and teaches them a lot. They pay £100 a month

wow ive never herd of it being that cheap before! lucky you! :P

My friend used to ride my old YO's horse and she only had to pay for his shoes and muck him out on the days she rode. Mind you, it was a mutually beneficial arrangement because my friend is a pretty good rider and the horse was 4 so my friend was bringing him on (and taking lessons on him). He went from completely ignorant to a nicely schooled horse capable of a novice dressage test and hacking out safely and starting jumping while she was riding. She eventually fell in love and bought him.

I have shared/part loaned 2 horses before, one i paid £25 a week for. She was on Part Livery so all jobs were done and i rode twice a week one week day and one saturday

Another horse i just paid for shoes and as she only had fronts it was £45 every 8 weeks ish.
The Horse was on DIY so it saved her owner a trip on the days i rode as she worked shifts so i just rode on the days her akward shifts fell on or if she had appointments etc that would have made visiting the Horse or riding difficult.

I have also ridden for a friend once a week just so the Horse could get more exercise as she had 2 and didn't get to ride them as much they needed to be worked

I only ask for £30 per month for shares on my ponies. Also, if someone shares, and they have a friend who would like to go out with them on another pony from time to time, I don't charge anything extra. The ponies aren't expensive to keep (barefoot, at grass), so the amount is a token contribution - I want a demonstration of commitment.

I would only have a sharer that is mature and has some measure of experience. No amount of money is worth someone ruiining your pony!
