For exercise?

For stable bandages I always use gamgee, but what am I supposed to put under my exercise bandages that doesn't poke out at either end?

Apologies for the numpty question.

I don't put anything under my fleece exercise bandages. Before anyone attacks me- I do bandage properly with even pressure etc and have never had any problems with my horses legs in years and years of using them!

However for warming up at competitions I use the Eskadron Climatex wraps in the smallest size they do (think it's 30x45cm) and they don't stick out of the bandages. They wash really well and would recommend them :)

Another vote for Eskadron Climatex pads.

I use the larger ones in the stable and the smaller ones for exercise, they are fab and legs don't get as hot.

They also do an all-in-one eskadron climatex bandage (like half fleece half elastic) but half climatex and half fleece :)

GAmgee is fine or fibregee pads. They are supposed to stick out top and bottom though to prevent the bandage from chafing the legs or causing pressure spots on the tendons.

I didn't think you had to put padding under fleece bandages when using them for exercise, only when they are used as stable bandages.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

you can bandage with fleece bandages without anything underneath but i used eskadron climatex pads just cos otherwise i worry about their legs over heating or there being a bump in the bandage or something, just a precaution really.
I have one set that is too wide so wraps twice round the leg but doesnt stick out the top or botttom but can't remember what size. you can always measure your horses legs and see.

I dont put anything under fleece bandages, but I use fibregee pads under the elastic bandages or the half fleece half elastic ones.

I use the 30x45 from Horse Health on my 16.2 warmblood with long cannon bones and my 16hh boy with shorter legs. Fine on both :)

The bigger size is what I use for stable bandages.
