On your feet??

I have a battered pair of mountain horse ankle boots, I don't know their name, but they have laces at the front and a zip up the back, which is great for taking them off. I wear them with chaps and they are very comfy.

Anyway, they are proper battered so am looking for a new pair. I've just tried on some MH ones called protective rider and they felt far too chunky...I then tried on some ariat ones, but they were too slimline. I'm very fussy!

So, what do you wear with your chaps???
 
i wear mountain horse loafers, i broke my ankle so it swells and other boots press, they are so comfy!!!

just had my 2nd pair, the others lasted 7 years!!
 
Ariats.

Bought some Mountain Horse boots yesterday for winter (full length) - could hardly drive in them today

I have one pair on mountain horse short boots which are lovely, and another pair of saxon riding boots that are cheapy boots which are also comfy
 
Mountain horse windsor jodhpur with the zips at the front, and my ariat classic chaps both are a bit battered but clean up great for clinics or posh lessons, love the boots a good balance of 'chunkiness'
 
my barbour leather wellies at yard unless a long lesson when will put on long leather boots!

my barbours are probably very non BHS but they are comfortable and mean I don't have to do boot changes even in nastiest winter as can get horses in through deep mud, keep my feet dry, hose off boots when back in yard and then ride!
 
I have a super comfy pair of Elite jodphur boots which were quite a reasonable priec considering how well they're lasted (got them Christmas 2005, still wearing them every day, no holes or major wear and tear!) when the best they get is saddle soap every now and then!

Wear them with suede half chaps as don't compete or get regular lessons. I am hoping to invest in some smart joddy boots and gaiters though when I have the finances.
 
I have Ariat Heritage zip boots and in my lessons I wear Ariat chaps with them (the leather ones with suede on the inner leg) or for hacking I wear Tredstep chaps. I also wear Ariat Grasmeres for hacking.
 
i love ariat, but the zips always go, and they're too expensive to bin after a month, so i'm never having them again! they refused to replace the zips or refund.

i've got a pair of Tredstep joddy-type boots which are very comfy and look really neat (but the soles have come away at the front, i've had them glued and they've come away again. *sigh*), and a pair of Equitectors, which are quite chunky but good for working the youngsters in... i'm less worried about getting my toes mashed if they leap about! the Equitectors are thermal lined for winter, which means i'm not dreading it too much. i can't do flatwork in them though, they're too clumpy.
so, still a bit stuck on finding the perfect boot, like you!
 
Hack in mountain horse lace up short boots (hint try the non protector style bet they're the right amount of chunky for you)
school in my full lenght regent leather boots that have a zip up the back.

never ever worn half chaps, people find that freaky? I can't see why.
 
Same as you,brought new ones last year as old ones started looking tatty.......Mountain Horse Protective are fine to ride in...'rips' on here rides in hers and she has stick thin legs and look even better when she has her shorts on.....I'm so dead now!

Ariat terrain H2O trainers (the boot ones) keep you warm in winter and cool in summer. Can walk all day in them too they're so comfy. Wore the last pair tll they fell apart on my feet (after about 3 yrs worn every day)
