MH high rider love them, been great for 2 years but zip going wobbley now, just bought pair of mark todd slip on loafers for everyday they are unbelievably comfortable but not ridden in them yet, there was a johdpur boot with zip up front from the same range that looked good too.
HUNTER jod boots. They are sooooooooooooooooo comfy and they've lasted me since Badminton 2006 wearing every day walking the dog, riding and doing yard work. The souls are bearly showing any signs of wear and tear but the leather on the top is scratched but that'll be wear I go through brambles and climb over barbed wire!!!!
They're only waterproof if I use Dubbin or something similar on a regular basis. Cost £45 last year when I bought my brown ones. Got a black pair (for best) for £40 this year at Badders and here's the web link: http://www.ukcovers.co.uk/acatalog/Equestrian.html (its the Musselburgh ones)
NOW ONLY £30!!!!!!! Go on you know you want some, if they've lasted me well over a year they will last most people much longer because I go through shoes like nobody's business!!!!
I should work for UK covers!!!!
Wonder if I could get some for free.
BY THE WAY I HAVE SOME WONDERFUL BLACK HAMILTON BOOTS ON THE SAME LINK FOR SALE - NEVER WARN STILL IN THEIR ORIGINAL BOX IN THE BOTTOM OF MY WARDROBE WONDERING IF THEY'LL EVER SEE DAYLIGHT
Mountain horse lace up boots with the zip up the back; they are as old as Gods dog and still going strong, also machine washable chaps by moutain horse.
I am now hankering after a pair of Ariat brown chaps and brown boots
Hb
Edited to answer the question
Chaps and boots always, I have some [again] Moutain Horse long boots but cant get to grips with them at all
I'm with the Mountain Horse Rider II crowd. Short boots with laces, really really comfy and I wear them with a pair of chaps. I love them cos they are great for the yard and good to ride in.
Think I must have the same MH short boots as you - the Sports Paddock boots - don't think they are made any more which is a shame as they are v comfy yet slimline. Mine are starting to fall apart too as have had them for years. I also have the MH Sportive and MH High Rider long boots, but have problems with the zips, have to have them replaced every so often.
My last pair of jod boots fell apart after i stupidly put them in the washing machine! I needed a pair on a Sunday for a leeson and the only place open was tesco. They are rather comfy though I don't expect them to last too long.
Usually I wear Mountain Horse Stable jod boots (from when they used to make those with steel toe caps). They were very, very comfy up until about six months ago when they started falling apart! Other times I wear my Ariat Terrain boots, which have almost had it but are so damn comfy and I can't afford another pair! The Ariats and MH ones are worn with cheapy Shires half chaps. For competitions I use MH Sport 2000 jod boots (short version of Sportive) and Robinsons Requisite gaiters (only ones that fitted). Just because I wanted thinner soles than the Stable boots for competing, but don't like them too thin!
Oh and if I'm lazy in winter I hack in my Hunter wellies!
I ride in my long mountin horse boots, they aren't bad to ride in but are horrible they haven't even lasted me 2 years and have already started to fall apart.
I have some Dublin jod boots which I love but keep them for competing/exams/etc.
Usually a cheap pair of Loveson jod boots for me. Can't seem to find any chaps to fit mail order, so I will really have to go and try some on, for the time being I put up with disgusting muck on my jods
I also have a pair of original Mountain Riders that are very comfy - I will start wearing them again once I have got round to cleaning them as I managed to go into mud that was deeper than them
Ariat Paddock Heritage II short boots and Ariat leather gaiters. Beautiful boots, very comfy.
I'd like some MH mountain riders but bit skint at the moment. Would also like some long boots but haven't been able to find any as my legs are very long and slim, so hard to find a good fit.
