Question in the title.

Will be hacking about 45 mins, doing 1 or 2 jumping classes then hacking back. Classes are spread through the day and there will be a bit of waiting around. there is water at the showground.

anyone got a list of essentials?

I find my Section A and her carriage are essential. Then I load the carriage up with all the stuff that would usually go in the lorry - haynets, water, picnic, spare tack, first aid kit, extra riders etc etc

Headcollar and lead rope. You can put this under the bridle and either hold the leadrope or clip it to your saddle, wound up properly.

Money for burgers and drinks!!

Hoof pick in pocket.

My husband and his car! Actually, I haven't yet hacked to a show but plan to in a couple of weeks so I am going to persuade OH to come in the car to bring all the stuff.

OH and the car!!

To be fair, as she is still only young our two outings so far (hacked to both - only 10 mins away though!) have only been short ones, so not taken anything with us - plus as so close.

Our next outing is 2.5 miles away, so OH and the car will take a little hay in a tub, brushes, rug if raining, and other bits and bobs as we plan on doing two tests and hopefully a clear round class for practice.

Good luck, ned will be plenty warmed up by the time you get there! Oh, and don't do what i have done the last two times and leave late and then have to trot all the way there (at least it was only 5 mins away then!)

Some headache tablets and a bullet!...trust me, hacking to a show is a nightmare...even if your OH turns up in the car...you cant find anything, nothing to tie your horse up to, you cant do your entries or titivate before a showing class, specially if you OH is horsey!

don't do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
