What do you take with you out riding?

Depends if I am just hacking from home for exercise or doing a longer ride or pleasure ride. A quick hack I just take my phone, a longer ride I will take a bumbag with bottle of water, hoofpick, dressing, roll of vetwrap, leather bootlace and clip a leadrope around Marnie's neck. I've been caught miles from home with a horse that cut it's leg, and the vetwrap and dressing were a godsend!

I only take my mobile with me when i hack out. I nearly always hack out alone so i always let someone at home know whereabouts im going and approximately how long i will be.

I see. I have never had a piece of tack break on me in decades of riding (although my son managed to break a stirrup leather in the school once) so may not bother in that case

Hasten to assure you it was not poorly maintained tack! Took a friend's disabled daughter for a hack. While I was fastening a gate her pony decided to put his head down to eat and as she rides with short reins with a bridge they shot out of her hands and over the pony's head. He then stood on them and broke them. I was very pleased I was able to cobble a repair with baler twine!

None of the items on that list. If I needed a head collar/rope, I would improvise 1 out of of something, like my jods...

I've got one of those cool little saddle bags that I use for longer hacks and I can get a bottle of water, hoofpick and bar of choccie in it! Always have phone in my pocket in case I fall off, also have a tag on George's saddle with my number, yard number etc. on them

Phone, fags and lighter, I must have string in every coat I own, pieces of apple for Amber, rewards for good behaviour if I have to get off for any reason.

Um i'm going to agree with whoever said 'my horse' as that is all i usually take with me!

Never have any pockets to take phone, oh occasionally i take OH and dog on foot if i can convince them!
