What do you think about when poo picking?

Why do I spend time providing what goes in the front end just so I can spend more time cleaning up what comes out the back end?

I also wonder what train spotting is like as a hobby ;)

What made you ask?

Can I possibly get that last bit in the wheelbarrow?
Are there any worms in it?
How did I end up with my life revolving around the daily poo pick?
Where in the field is Bert? Is he gong to ignore me today or try and run me over?
Where in the field is Merlin? If he tips the full barrow over once more I am definitely going to sell him!!!

When I'm with horses it is about the only time I don't feel depress about my life. I enjoy being outside and being with them. When I'm poo picking I don't have lot time to think as too busy keeping an eye on my toddler

Does he look lame?

Or I am completely off in my own world and not thinking about anything :D

These two!

It is a draw back of 24/7 turnout in summer. I am often playing catchup with poo picking and if it's rained then it all gets soo heavy. Was actually thinking today while I was doing it, IS this preferable to mucking out everyday

Did anyone else read the title as

'What do you think about when you poo?'

Yes! I thought the thread had escaped from the club house :p

I'm also a 'how much more can I fit in the wheelbarrow' thinker :)

The other day i was wondering if horses ever did wet farts. As kept finding single poos isolated from proper piles of poo and thought i wonder if the horse went to fart and did a poo . Then i thought , if they do, do they have the same suprised reaction as humans who wet fart do?

Hmmmm, I did two whole fields, planed for a whole week and didn't really notice the work. Wondered if I was strange.

I am usually admiring the ponies schooling prowess and jumping ability as they are being ridden while I am doing it but on the days I go alone I just revel in the peace and quiet and the gentle nudges as the ponies help me. I don't hand feed mine so I know they are beside me or following me because they want to be with me which is a wonderful feeling

I find myself singing in my head.

Then my horse comes over, sniffs the barrow, puts his foot in it and knocks it over. He then runs off.

Think about how many more barrows I need to do before I can justify enough effort for one day.

I don`t think of much because I don`t have to poo-pick, I have a couple of strapping young lads who do it for me .... :p ... heh heh heh

well that's something to think about!

I used to work on a yard and main job was poo picking Yay....

I used to think:
- I could hide behind there for hours and no one would know...
- I need to fix that, that, that and that
- Why don't Liveries actually poo-pick like there meant to?
- I hope i don't electrocute myself again,
- Is that ragwort...
- What is the YM gonna moan at me about now..
- Wonder what i can buy for lunch...
- Do you recon the CCTV camera can see if i wee over there??

i have thought of a Zombie apocalypse a few times
then when i got into my FAVE field Ned would be there :) I would talk to him a lot and he would follow me around and stand by poo piles and used to give me cuddles :D he was awesome!

A few things lol!

How am I going to push this barrow up the slope to the yard (my barrow is huge).

Must remember to wash my toddlers hands quickly after she has picked up most of poo with them!

Depends if poo picking with twin toddlers. If so we are usually singing we're going on a poo hunt ( along the lines of bear hunt ), interspersed with 'don't touch the ouchy fence' and 'don't eat the poo'. If not I chat to the cat, and the dog and try not to get mown down by the pony who finds it all rather exciting ( he has to be shut on yard if toddlers helping in case he trips over them.

i often wonder who else think their horse/s poo for england and can i enter the next olympics for it. along with all of you who also wonder if they can get abit more in the barrow

Haha this has just made my day!

Why can't I have a poo picking fairy!!!!! And why the muck trailer has to be at the far end of the yard! And why am I still doing this at my age!!!!

I think I don't need a gym membership or a shrink!

I like the tedium of poo picking!

But then I do only have 1 horse to pick for and he is done every day.
