what do you think happened to Shergar?

Shergar sired one crop of 43 foals.
he produced several stakes winners form this one crop and some of the Aga Khans bloodlines still go back to him.

43 that is correct - I just looked on Wikipedia and it said 35 foals. Did only 35 race?

gosh i dont really like this topic anymore!!! its making me regret opening it as its a very sad and tragic mystery which i doubt nobody will ever know..except those bl**dy kidnappers!!
 
I seem to recall reading/hearing that the horse went berserk (being a fighting fit stallion who'd been standing at stud) and the horsenappers couldn't handle him and he injured himself, so they abandoned him to his fate - literally

not 100% sure about that tho' My mind has a habit of mixing 'n' matching similar memories...
