What do you think is the best cross breed?

[ QUOTE ]

I've also known two shire x dutch warmblood who were fantastic horses.

[/ QUOTE ] - I have one of these crossed with a coloured cob, she is a very very special pony, though a little bit sensitive!

I have to agree with all those who said Connie x TB as that's what I wanted when we went shopping for our yearling. I ended up with...

TB x Quarter Horse which I'm assured is lovely - I'll get back to you when he's older!

Otherwise I have a TB x Show Hunter Pony who is amazing even if it is like having a TB with a bad pony attitude!

Probably IDxTB, although mine is a TBxGodKnows, and he's awesome

I quite like mongrels.

I have an ID X WB and he's a sweetheart! Temp of an ID (mane, tail & coat too!) but movement of WB (with a decent rider, ala not moi!). He's a real gent to do round & totally unflappable - he'll hack anywhere & is as bold and brave as a lion!

IDXTB is a great cross......so great the irish made a Breed of their own from that cross the ISH!

Personally im partial to a Connemara Cross anything,ISH are norm over here so i dont see them as anything special anymore.
Met a lovely ConnemaraXtb lately, sensibly as a pony and jumped like a stag but with a bit more height think he was 15.2....

Biased of course, but you can't beat a good arab cross, they are good for just about anything you can think of, even going round Badminton or Hickstead:)

Arabs cross particularly well with Highlands and Connemaras for versatile large ponies/small horses.
I am breeding Quarabs at the moment, haven't had a bad one yet, mine look like arabs but have the temperament of their QH sire, and will make awesome ( I dislike that word, but it is appropriate) 15-16h all rounders.

Have to say this though, Godolphin, Byerley, Darley etc, etc, all your tb's have them there, see, arabs get everywhere

All my QH's and Paints go back to Godolphin via Exclipse as well.
