As above really, have any of you had this done on your horse, have you had success or is it just a lot of rubbish and money spinning. I am very sceptical about something that you cannot see being done.

Would love to know your thoughts on this.
 
I am prepared to be shot down in flames but i had it done on my mare, the lady came highly recommended (she has done horses for top race horse trainers and drivers) she came up with a few things that were spot on, picked up old injuries etc. I used her as my mare was a nightmare when in season and quite frankly was never really out of season and with this she helped BUT she told me my mare had cancer of the ovaries and would never be able to conceive another foal. I spent 2 days of agony thinking my girl had cancer and waiting for a stud vet to do an internal exam to be told she was fine (thank god) and she has since had 2 more foals!
 
Hi Allover thanks for your reply. I am sorry you were given news like that, it must have been very frightening for you but Im glad it turned out ok.

Would you recommend radionics, the reason I ask is that my mare lacks courage and confidence when jumping particularly solid fences, logs etc and fillers, even though she has been schooled quite a bit over them and so I contacted someone about essential oils and the lady came back with doing radionics on her and I am not sure about it as its £30 and you cant see what, if anything, has been done. I would prefer either some sort of essential oils or plant remedies such as Bach Flower but I need to find out which ones and how to use them.

I would be intersted if anyone else has had radionics done on their horses.
 
As i said she seemed immediately to improve with her hormones. Also the guy who recommended the radionics lady to me was a stable lad for Michael Stout for many years and did not suffer fools lightly, he told me about a driving horse it was used on that was a superstar on home turf but as soon as he went abroad he turned into a nervous wreck and never performed. This lady treated the horse and it never looked back. I would use it again if i felt i needed to. :)
 
My ex boss used to do it, she treated people and horses and it always seemed to work from the feedback she got.
She treated me for my hayfever and I didn't have it at all the whole time I worked for her!

It doesn't seem like it should work but it does!!
 
Thanks Seahorse do you think it would give my horse more confidence when jumping. she is a bit of a wimp when jumping anything solid, fillers, logs etc even though she has been schooled on them for quite a while.

Not sure, but she used to calm her horses down by treating them radionically, you could really tell the difference when she hadn't done it.
There might be a treatment for bravery, she had a massive book with all the different treatments in. Unfortunately she died this time last year or I'm sure she could help.

The lady I worked for didn't charge but if you were pleased with the results then you could sent her payment then but what you thought it was worth. She wasn't in it for the money at all and would spend hours on the black box helping people and horses. When someone phoned her and said they felt better she was really pleased.
 
I don't pretend to understand how radionics works but I believe that it does.

I had a young event horse with an unspecified hindlimb lameness - vets couldn't work out what was wrong. He was also a headshaker - very photophobic - and the wettest horse in the stable.

I sent some of his mane hair off and the diagnosis came back that he had a low level kidney infection (hence the wet bed). He had severe facial pain (similar to a migraine), was very stressed throughout his whole immune system and that he had a feed intolerance.

Now I only told her he was a 16.2hh 7 yr old 7/8ths gelding - I never even told her his colour.

The vets subsequently discovered that he had displaced 2 vertebra in his neck, putting pressure on the facial nerves (hence the headshaking) and leading to muscle wastage and nerve damage in his hindquarters (hence the loss of movement behind)

He was also allergic to barley.

Now how could a "quack" have got 100% strike rate from a mane sample??

Bit like homeopathy - I have every understanding that it shouldn't work, but loads of experience that it does work..... Had another headshaker who was rideable on homeopathic pills, unrideable without them - no placebo effect, as he was a horse and couldn't tell he was eating them!!
 
My mother's dressage horse used to be on the black box for tension in the test - £23/month.

It's much harder to quantify than vet results as so many different factors are involved - including rider tension - but his then rider didn't know he was on it (part of the plan lol!) and reported that he seemed more relaxed and rideable in the arena.

Bit more subjective, I know, but we didn't tell the rider so that we could have some slightly more objective feedback
 
Have a look at www.crossgatesfarm.co.uk. Hair analysis had a profound effect on my Arabian. It was very interesting what it threw up and the specific remedy definitely had a general beneficial effect on many levels. There appear to be so many areas where we may not understand how something works, but the horses can't lie.....
 
onemoretime, I have used it, but not for the sort of thing you are talking about. I think a horse lacking confidence over solid fences needs more experience and more positive riding, simply. i really think you should spend your money on lessons, or on paying a good positive experienced jockey to get your horse going over xc fences so that you can feel the benefits, if you aren't the bravest yet.
