full up 16.3hh, 6yo, not a light weight, a substantial chap. he was in training as a race horse, but didn't make the grade. spent a year hunting twice a week with the brocklesby. Owner got him in May, said he was underweight and turned him out and has done nothing with him since. she bought him to event but is a bit intimidated by his size. He also had a sore back when she got him, she is a back woman, so his back should be fine. Very handsome chap, Owner has only been gently riding him for the past two weeks, he is fine to get on and off, have to mount from a crate! He is short coupled and pings into trot. very novice and probably bored of being in the school, ready for hacking out. He is ridden in a snaffle, has a neck strap to grab hold of in case of emergency but not needed. slightly dishes no other obvious bumps and lumps. a really nice all round horse. Unblemished. £1200.
 
I dont like the use of the word intimidated i have to say. I wouldnt mention the back problem if his back is now fine, as it would put a potential buyer of as if he has some kind of injury history. Wouldn't mention the neck strap either if not needed. Good price.
 
Agree with Cruise, a bit too much info I think in places. Could you not bull his hunting up a bit?? He must be pretty good at it if he's gone twice a week all season. He seems reasonable priced.

What about his jumping??
 
I'd be more incline to put something like.

Quality 16.3 6yo MW *insert colour* Gelding. Hunted with the Brocklesby, proving to be a (sensible, safe, bold?) hunter. snaffle mouth with good confirmation and paces. *insert his name* is just coming back into work due to no fault of his own and would make a fanstatic allrounder/hunter. No blemishes. £1,200.

Although personally if I read my add he would be too cheap!!

I don't think there is any reason to say he has been in training or that he is a TB - sounds a bit strait from the yard which he isn't.

I'll probably get shot down for saying it like this. But if you stand with your toes slightly inwards then try running like this thats what a horse described as dishing does. They do a sort of half circle with their front feet as they move.

I think everyone thought you were doing an advert to sell a horse!.

I Agree with Starbucks, I can't help but think if he is all that you say , he is incredibly cheap.
Horse prices are astronomical on some of the websites I browse. I've seen horses that don't sound half as nice for three times that price.
Is it just because he is a retrained racehorse that his value is so low?
Surely a good horse that is young and has potential and manners is worth more than than £1200 whatever his breeding!
