What do you think of this bareback pad/roller?

Hi, I've been casually looking at buying a bareback roller, ideally one with a handle as I'd like to attempt a bit of basic vaulting and see how Lace takes to it! I've had a look at some previous posts about rollers in general and the main thing that's cropped up is people wondering if the pressure is distributed very evenly along horse's back. Just looked at the google shopping results for 'equine bareback pad' and this came up: http://www.horseandharmony.co.uk/best-friend-bare-up-1285-p.asp. It seems very cheap to me compared to some others I've seen, just wondered what somebody else might think of it, possible pros & cons maybe? Thanks, Ellie!

That link goes to the bare up.

It's not a roller or a bareback pad, just a (rather dodgy IMHO) device for helping you to mount without a saddle. I don't like that there is nothing to limit the tightness of the strap. All your weight goes to tighten the strap round the horse:(

I'm no expert, I use a Total Contact saddle which has been the cause of some controversy on here but I formed my own opinions and it's very useful for what I want to do.

If you want a cheap vaulting roller to try then here are a couple of options. Same place has "riding" rollers but if you decide to use stirrups you need to use safety stirrups like the peacock ones as the stirrup mounts are not quick release.
