What's YOUR opinion? Just interested what you'd think of his condition if you saw him. I know what the vet said about him last week, which I'll let you know when I've had some replies.

Also if you want to guess the breed, please do. I'm bored and thought this might be quite interesting

Bit skinny, but only noticeable really in 2nd pic, as colouring makes him look ribbier than they may be...

doesnt look too bad to me...

would depend on circumstances whether or not Id be worried

Looks like a greyhound/lurcher X collie to me.

Not sure if the dog looks awfully underweight or not, photos are difficult to judge - I have a collie X and she looks slim (well not at the moment as she is due to have puppies in a couple of weeks, so she is a big fat Momma!) but my dog just runs and runs and runs constantly. She eats well and is healthy and shiny and that's all that matters. My vet thinks she is in tip-top condition.

Slightly thin but certainly not desperately underweight. I would guess border terrier x collie or possibly whippet. If he has any whippet in him then the weight probably about right, I would far rather see a dog this weight than some of the grossly overweight ones you see waddling about.

I'd say a tiny bit underwieght, only because a vet once told me their fur should round over the hips bones and if it sticks up there's not enough fat underneath. Otherwise I'd say in good condition. Collie/GSD maybe?

Better underweight than over. Is he an active younger dog? They do go through some skinny stages. German Sheperd/X is my guess.

Well, first of all his mum is a Border Collie X Whippet and his dad is pure Border Collie, so he's 3/4 Border Collie!!!

The vet couldn't stop saying what amazing condition he is in! He has so much muscle and she kept going on and on at how she wished all dogs were like this instead of overweight, under exercised pets. Turbo is 18 months old and shepherds the sheep everyday (he is the most amazing sheepdog, and very affectionate). He is on the go all day, but fed ad lib on dried food and given bones, etc.

His dad and brother are in the same condition, skinny but muscled, I was amazed at the vet TBTH, I thought I was going to have a telling off

She honestly wouldn't shut up how great they were, lol.

Oh well I got the collie bit right anyway! I was surprised how many people thought he was crossed with a GSD. As someone who has had GSDs all her life I couldn't really see any Shepherd in him. Glad to hear of a vet that recognises that many dogs are overweight, a friend of a friend has a grossly overweight collie but her vet has said he is fine! He is a young dog who spends all his time lying around and has no energy, how can that be healthy?

Defo better to be under than overweight. I had a neighbour who's lab looked like a gigantic seal, with no neck or shape at all. At 3 years old it could hardly walk and panted on the amble 100yds to the shop.

Re the GSD thing, I thought the muzzle and colouration looked a bit GSDish. I had a GSD x lab and her head was very similar

Looks very similar to my terrier x whippet, she always looks lean but then she's not a big eater and always on the move. I would say this is a lean dog not neccessarily underweight but at the lower end of average, if that makes sense!
