what do you think of this for my novice friend

Is this the friend who bought the Andi? Think Ive got the right person LOL.

If so, doesnt she need to sort out what she is going to do with the 30k plus horse she has bought lately and their associated livery costs before buying another horse?

If not, he looks nice!

He is pricey, but if he is as easy and straightforward as it says in the ad, then I would have no problem spending that amount of money. However, I would imagine a lot of people on here will say £1500! I would consider whipping off his mane and pulling/shoterning the tail and generally sharpening him up a bit lookswise, and he would look really smart. If she has the money, then I would think he was definitely worth a look.

yes someone called Berry wish she would post some more about her friend think its very funny (and sad) that she is so loaded and so niaive to have been stitched up, bet the YO has booked a 6 month holiday this summer on the back of her profits from this woman

It looks like the horse may be with a dealer, I would be wanting to know how long they had him, and checking out the story to just make sure that a long enough time frame of work has gone into this horse.

He looks quite fit and forward going, would need to ride the horse in school and hacking and have a gallop to see if she could manage him. Personally, by just looking at the photo's he looks like he may be a little beyond a novice's first horse. I would go for something less forward going and really steady, let her build up to something more like this horse.

Aah he's a little sweetie. I think once he was all tidied and smartened up he would look a cracking little sort and if he is as nice as he sounds in the description, i think he is well worth the money.

Really nice sort but I agree about the price as there is no way I would pay 4 grand for a horse unless it was a racer to race, a nice broodmare with good lines or an andalusian/lusitano as they are my fave horse breeds.
Mcfly cost me 1800 and over 2 grand with the transport and vetting at the sales etc and I thought that was a lot. But there is no way I would pay 4 grand for one like that no matter how nice it was unless I wanted a nice mare for breeding perhaps.
I wish your friend luck though as it can be a minefield buying a horse for a novice. I mean my daughter's horse is young and green but broken and my daughter is a novice. But Mcfly has a temperament to die for and is more laid back than my lad who is over 15. I guess I just got lucky at the sales I suppose. You could tell your friend to try coloured contacts or adhorse too to see what is available at the moment. Or maybe they would consider a horse on trial or loan with a view to buy just to make sure they get the right horse and don't end up with something too young or overhorse themselves.
Just a suggestion, but good luck

she is now not going to view as it has slight sweet itch so back to the drawing board. she has now been put in touch with Peter Lamb in Cheshire who is a dealer so will wait with bated breath to hear the outcome

What's a bit of sweetich if you find the perfect horse??

It definately wouldn't put me off.

It would put me off the price though if it was 4 grand as is expensive enough as it is without the expense of rugs and treatment for sweet itch on top.
Ok if the horse was 2 grand or else and a belter and had sweet itch fair enough but for 4 grand you could get something far grander if you looked in the right places.
Good luck with the dealer though I also know of another whom someone on my yard has bought a nice pony from recently. Alder route is the name of the place if I am remembering it correctly. I may have some contact numbers for them and know they advertised on stable talk website recently. They are based near Alderley Edge which is in Cheshire so your friend may be able to look them up too. You can ride them out and they come with a warranty too in case you are not happy or the horse is not for you etc.
May be worth a look?
