What do you think of this horse?

Sorry, I'm another who doesn't think that horse will be right for you, you don't want to be trying to fix someoneelse's problems just now.

However, I've just been contacted by a friend in Cambridgeshire who tells me that she has a friend trying to find a nice home for a decent horse. He's a bit big again (16.2), and probably a bit older than you'd prefer (14) and he's TB but he's a sensible lad who jumps and does a nice test. He is definitely well within your price band.

Alternatively if you want to go up a little on budget my little AA mare is at a yard where there is the sweetest most laid back warmblood gelding for sale. He's just going out and beginning to learn his trades now; he's done his first dressage tests and SJ rounds and was an utter gent. I think he's just on 16hh, and he's 5. I don't know the horse very well - I've seen him round the yard and at shows and he's lovely and sensible but what really impressed me was being at the yard when his teeth were done - I can't believe how calm he was about the whole thing, a really lovely boy! Vet was wildly impressed with him and his attitude too. He needs a decent rider because he's just a baby but he's not a complicated ride at all - I'm told, I haven't ridden him. He's near Ely.

If you want more details on either PM me and I'll give you the phone numbers etc.

Please note I have no financial interest in either of these two horses - just trying to help out locally!

I can't believe it - I've finally got two horses in full work and now the things are coming out of the woodwork at me! I just thought that either of them might be a better choice for the OP.

I do sympathise greatly with the OP, I have a chestnut Welsh nutter who was off for meat if we didn't have him. He will be with us for life now. We worked so hard for so long to get him to believe in us and that we would never hurt or frighten him and we did manage to have a huge amount of fun with him - and not a few rosettes too. He's probably my most-loved horse ever BUT (and it's a big BUT) I swore that I would never buy another horse with those sorts of panic issues, I know that much of it has come from the way he was treated before we had him but if I can avoid having to deal with another one I will. I've had him for over six years now and he still has his "moments".

i think you would be making an enormous mistake if you got a horse like this, i dont think it would even be worth looking at tbh.

I wouldn't if I were you. They are not allowing her to move forward in the video although she will make someone a lovely horse if I were you I would leave this one to a more experienced home
