What do you think of this horse?

Sounds like a dealers as it's imported from Ireland, plus i'm never to keen on horses advertised without a ridden picture. Especially as it says top prospect for eventing you'd want to see it working well on the flat or jumping. My view anyway

Does sound like a dealer but really is a bargain! would be tempted to have a look but go with doubts and cynical head screwed firmly on.

Im not keen on dealers. Ive seen one a lot closer to me so may ring that one up first altho does say done a lot of hunting, again questions about legs etc. come to mind.

i would imagine a dealer but the easiest way to check is to google the phone numbers.

I quite like the horse; pasterns a little long and he is a touch downhill and straight in the shoulder, but overall he is quite smart :)

Do you want it to event? From the way it's head and neck is set on it might find dressage harder than a horse with more advantageous conformation. I must say I do agree with the poster who wonders why they don't show a ridden photo, especially as it has boots on so not ideal for a confo shot.

The wording in the photo is interesting - "Brave scopey jump, jumps fillers/water trays etc with 3 elastic paces, been cross country schooled" - doesn't mention it's attitude to ditches, water XC, which most people would do.

"Happily hacked down main road alone." This gives you the impression that it is good in traffic, but it may have gone down a short section of the main road at 7.30am on a Sunday morning and not met a single car!

If it is not just round the corner from you I would request to see a ridden jumping photo and a flatwork photo at least, before wasting a journey. Plus ideally some videos of it ridden as well. Also a confo pic without boots on!

thanks everyone. I will ring up and request more photos and a video as horse isnt local. Also Im not wanting horse to event but mainly to do rc showjumping maybe BSJA and the odd hunter trial. Ive googled tel no nothings coming up on other horses for sale.

I've Googled the number, it comes up with the same horse advertised on Horsemart as private seller, Hannah Cuttler from Chesterfield :)

ETS: Maybe just ring and ask if she is a dealer?

Hi i think he looks lovely, nicely put together, nice shoulder and pasterns, WHAT A SHINE!

i like a picture of the horse not being ridden, you can have a look at its general conformation, you can always see it being ridden by the person selling it whne you view. I would want to know how long she has had him and why she now wants to sell him. I would pay max £2200 with tack. Its a buyers market!
