What do you think of this horse?

Very flashy, very green. I would not want it though... I would not be able to ride one side of it! Also can't see it taking me round a ODE or hacking out on it's own in the wind and rain lol.
Still it is beautiful, 51k is actually not a lot of money for a potential top dressage horse. When you think youngsters at the elite auctions in germany reguarly go for £200k and then some.

Your probably right, it doesn't have much hock action. I think it's easier to get a flashier front end later on in the training as long as they have the agility behind. Saying that I am no expert on dressage horses, it could be just what is wanted for all I know!
 
Not naturally good enough behind for that money whole thing looked rushed and tense more expressive with the NF to begin with may just be a bit of not straightness it was less noticeable after cantering .he got a good canter .looks like it needs hacking walk and turnout for six months that would be fun !
It's a huge amount of money .but he's a beauiful boy .
I can't comprehend the prices of these horses
 
You see a fair few of the horses that are produced for the dressage horse auctions with similar movement - auction riders are specifically selected for their ability to produce the 'auction trot'.

I do like the indoor school tho!

Not enough action in the hock. I would not be concerned with lack of a back end due to age and would rather a horse at this age not have had much work at all done. However, there should be naturally more action in the hindlegs than this horse has for the price being asked.

It is good to have a hot horse for dressage, but I think this would only get so far before its natural ability prevented it from getting the good marks.

I wouldn't even pay £2k for this horse. Lovely looking on the face of it and better hock action, but I don't think it very straight behind at all. Even looks a little cow hocked in the trot. Again, when looking at youngsters with potential to go far in dressage, I am not at all concerned with the way they are going, how they are ridden or even what temperament they might have...I am very concerned though with the natural movement and ability. I think both of these horses lack the natural assets I would want if looking at spending those amounts of money.

Both beautiful to look at though!
 
As I watched the video the end of ELO's Mr Blue Sky came on the radio and I thought it was on the video - I thought they were doing kur, it was so beautifully in time to the horse's step...

So if anyone on here buys him there's your first kur track to word on.
