Random post really but what do you think of this horse. Had a seriously mean comment about him today! Know they are not the greatest pics but please just comment on what there is!

Snide comments normally come from jealousy. You'll have a nicer horse (temperament/looks/movement), be doing more than them/moving forwards well etc and it gets certain people backs up.
Do you really care what someone else thinks of your pride and joy? Those people are not worth worrying about ;)
 
I have found that the negative comments about my solid as a rock, can go like poop off a shovel, turns her hoof to anything, safe as houses, never broken COB have been from those who have very complicated rides, broken horses or those who 'prefer' groundwork *darent ride their horse*.

Put them on real life UI :D

eTA .... Check saddle fit, but then I'm no expert by any means!

They said he had an abnormally long back? And his head was to big for his body! I don't see it but wanted to see if anyone else did!

I have a strange collection of horses and don't really care what others think but I just couldn't see what they see. If that makes sense!
 
Does it matter what other people think?
If 10 people said he was perfect, you still won't forget what 1 person has said.
Love your horse for what he is!
 
He has a long back and a large head ... he is beautiful and just the kind of horse i would have and fall in love with ;)

The nasty comment was because the person is sad with low self esteem so ignore them and continue to love that horse ... or give him to me :D x
 
I must say my first thought was that he looks rather like my OH's horse who is very, very long! But our boy makes up for it with a very genuine temperament and I'm sure yours does too!

I don't think it is necessarily a mean comment as we have had it a few times from instructors as it does mean you have to make allowances in the way he is ridden. I suppose it depends on how it was said and the context of the remark!
 
Long back and long neck and probably VERY comfortable to ride because of it.

By the way, I don't think your saddle fits him at all from the photo, may be a quirk of the shot.

It was just plonked on for a picture! It has been fitted professionally but this was just put on for a pic and is too far forward :)
 
I can't see why someone would do that! He's a gorgeous horse ;) In the first picture his head looks a tad big, although I think that's the angle, as in the trotting pic, he looks amazing :D
 
It might be the angle of the picture, but he does look very long in the back, and in the neck.

He's kind of, "hunter looking" to me.

He's also a good boy going over the jump and looks to move well. Like any horse, he wouldn't be everybody's cup of tea, but he's smart, doing the job and you like him so that's all that matters. :)

Hiya people say the funniest things! He looks mighty fine to me :))
 
who ever said that is just trying to hurt you and they must be just jealous. im sure you love him and he does his job for you.
i think he is lovely. i love his head and was shocked when i saw they said his head was to big for his body. i think it suits his size and looks so kind. and as for his back.. he has a lovely long neck so he would look odd if his back was any shorter. he looks like he would be very comfortable and im sure when you ride there is LOADS of horse in front of you which is great. he looks to be plenty big and the lenght of his neck and back makes him look scopey. not everyone is perfect and either are horses.
 
Who gives a monkeys about nasty comments - he looks fab! Maybe his conformation isn't perfect (and I'm no expert) but if he works as well as he is in those 2 pics then who cares!
My boy has a long back, long neck, big roman nosed head if you wanted to be critical... But he does everything I want to and more :)

Unless the tack and photos are really not doing the horse justice then I have to say that I can see what the person is saying as he does look like he has a very long back, straight long neck and his head (although a pretty face) does look a little large for his body. If the person said it in a nasty manner then that's not on but if they were just saying it as pointing out what they saw then where's the harm in saying what they see? As an aside, what a beautiful collected jump he has and looks like he works very nicely. I do wonder though if part of it is that breastplate you have on him, it makes him look a bit cut and shut.

There looks to be a lot of space behind the saddle so they are saying he is long in the back, I think it's partly because it's a very forward cut saddle and the angle of the photo.

Ignore them he looks a lovely horse and no horse is perfect - probably jealous
