what do you think of this horse?

The OP is very experienced themselves though, is the sort of person I would expect to have a lot of experienced contacts if needed.

I have to be honest these types of threads are in my opinion what is dumbing down this forum.
What gives any of us the right to pull to pieces a horse that is for sale that is being sold by somebody who maybe nobody knows on here and is a genuine advert.I would be pretty peed off if it was my horse as any potential purchaser can make up their own mind, maybe it is a crock in the making or the video may be doing it an injustice it is up to the seller to market the horse as they see fit. So why solicit adverse comment that could kill a sale when you or any of the people commented will not have seen it.
As for the comment I know what I think ( without putting that forward ) and then asking for comment shows a certain lack of confidence in your own ability to judge a horse.
Sorry if that sounds harsh but you have potentially ruined somebodies chance to sell that horse with no up close and personal knowledge of it .

I completely understand what you are saying, but there are two positives to a thread like this.

One is that it gets a lot more people looking at the advert, and some like the horse. Two, if the advertiser sees it and reads it, it will give them all the information that they need to adjust their marketing of the horse so that he sells. I sold a horse on horsemart this year, and I would have been very happy for his advert to have been picked up on this forum, whatever people wrote about it.

I tend to think that if you want to take the benefit of advertising on the internet, you also have to bear the burden that the internet can bring. If you don't like people drawing attention to your advert and commenting on it via the web, then best stick to old fashioned advertising in tackshops etc.

Its a great theory thats fine until its your horse and you have paid out for the advert etc and quite rightly that horse you would not market from a card in a tack shop LOL. I suppose you could always amend an advert in a tack shop by adding your observations at the bottom. Of course you wouldnt do that but will rubbish a horse advertised online. Why???
My point is really that this type of thread can be used for totally the wrong reason and you never are sure of the OPs reason for drawing attention to it. Would they be looking to purchase said animal themselves so wishing to devalue it or maybe have a grudge against the seller. These are just examples ,I am not in any way suggesting the OP in this case is guilty of either. However I do find it odd when the question is about a horse a friend is interested in,why dont they come on here and ask if thats what they want
I must admit that some of the conclusions about the horse by some posters would not help sell the horse at all and if the comments were on a forum in for example the states you would soon have court papers dropping through your door! Whats more if this thread was about a horse advertised on this website I suspect this thread would have disappeared ages ago!!
