What do you think of this perlino stallion?

Excuse me are you accusing me of trying to advertise a stallion?!

Would be a tad difficult seeing as I don't even own one!

I came back on this thread to post a 'proper' reply, how rude! Although looking at the fact that you have made only one post and made it a nasty one - that just says trouble maker to me.

At last a proper reply to you all!

Thank you for your opinions on Alba, lots of conflicting ones! I have spoken to my sister in law who has done plenty of dressage and showing and also some breeding (and is therefore a much better judge than me

) and reckons that I should try and visit as many stallions as possible because its not just about finding the 'best' stallion, its about finding the one that best compliments my mare.

If I don't find a cremello/perlino stallion that I feel suits my mare, than I would happily look at a wider range of stallions as a buckskin isn't the be all and end all.

Anyway we will start planning our visits in the new year (we live near Durham) and will let you know (thanks for the invitations Alba and Groomsbridge).

Very well said, that is exactly what you should do, look with honesty at your mare and her faults - as previously said NO horse is perfect and also stallions aren't - and then chose what is best for your mare.

Come on everybody, lets see this thread for what it really is. It goes like this, you join a forum, spend an hour or so posting nothing much on other peoples threads. And then start a thread about someone else's stallion. You wait for a few other people to post and then get a post put up advertising your own stallion. Dead easy. Free advertising without breaking any forum rules.

For your infomation there are plenty of posts like this & if it is a way of advertising the stallion, so what, how does that affect you? You have signed in just to reply to this, or so it seems, well there is nothing to stop you doing the same thing, so who would you like comments on??? Have people got nothing better to do, then have a go at one another in this sly underhand way.

flying colours, I have used ZfDP myself, which is why I didnt put it in the same catergory as ES or ECHA. ZfDP in my opinion is a more credible stud book than the other 2

For those interested please note that E.S. is NOT a recognised Studbook! It literally saved its hide by being accepted as an associated register by the E.C.H.A., which is a EU recognised Studbook. The previous gradings of the E.S. were null and voided (as flying colours experienced) and the stallions graded by them had to be graded again by a recognised Studbook. The E.S. is not recognised as a passport issuing register or as an Studbook by the Dutch Goverment.

We have seen a parallel situation with the PREs where suddenly the dilutes became fashionable. They had not been permitted in our Stud Book, so when they were finally admitted some breeders seemed to join a lemming run, and people were advertising and selling horses and covers at prices that had no relation to proven performance or morphology.

Look at the horse first.
