Hi this is my friends coloured(has given me permission to do this),hes 7 years old, standing 15.3hh,a reg warmblood, hes sire is The Traveller by Marmite D'or,hes dam is Balltimesxx. He is a superb mover, with floating action like i have never seen before, currently doing Preliminary dressage, and is prooving to be a fantastic prospect for the future, also prooving to be a very scopey jumper!!!!Currently jumping 1.25m with no problems, hacks out no problems in company or without, fine with all the basics,i.e,farrier,dentist,vet,etc.A horse with a very dedicated attitude towards his work, and is prooving his weight in gold.Sorry its a bit long but want you to get a rough idea.Basically how much would you value him at a rough estimate as my friend would like to know.Thank you.x

Hi,im sorry but i can not give you no info at present, but can find out,erm deepest apologies but hes not for sale yet?!But how much would you value him by just what i have written, hopefully may be able to get video tomorrow of him working in the school, and i will post a update of him in a fresh post.cheers everyone.

I sold one very like this last year for 5k. Mine was a real event stamp, moved well, been XC schooled round intro and pre novice and jumping double clears at 80 cm in the ring but at home about 1.10. He was also nicely bred by Ed King Hill out of a Trek. mare. I think this is a fair price as to be honest the horse really hasn't proved anything yet and isn't reg bsja, bd, be ect. or has any showing wins. Its also not very well marked and wouldn't really be a show horse.

Oh, sorry didn't see yours was 7! Would be more like the 4k mark then, too old really o sell to a pro with no comp record and most people would be looking for something with winnings at this age.

I have no idea but I do think he's nice. I like his markings. I'm probably being a pleb though because I don't normally like coloured horses. I'm sure someone who knows more than me will tell me I'm wrong!

i also don't normally like coloureds but i like him for some reason!

and sorry if this isn't what you or your friend wants to hear but if he hasn't got any competition experience or winnings under his belt then he won't be worth much more than just a riding school horse, but if he's jumping 1.25m then take him to some shows before he's sold and if he does well that will put it up a bit

Was he 7 in that photo?

Not sure if its my eyes (probably is :D) but he looks a very young 7 year old to say he's jumping/hacking and doing dressage.

Not saying that I he isn't of course, was just an minor observation :D ...after all you did ask us what we think to him.

I think he is lovly, but then i am a coloured fan and i think all horses are lovly.
He looks like he has plenty of personality and willingness to work from his face.
I could see him in coloured classes, they also make good working hunters.
I am no good at putting a price on horses. I think when your friend comes to sell and he has some wins under his belt plenty of very good offers will come rolling in.
I personally am not a fan of brown/white and mainly white but he caught my eye and i do like him. He would easily catch a judges eye.

I love to buy him if your friend decides to sell him. He is a lovely stamp and just the size i like. Let me know if he does come up for sale and the area your from please. x

I have no help on price sorry!!
But I agree that he is not weel marked enough to do coloured showing classes! He might stand out when he is surrounded by bays etc, but once he is in a ring with 10 other coloureds he will blend in and lose out to a horse with better markings.

I like him though :)

If I am honest, I would not pay a thing for him - I really don't like him, I'm not sure why, just something doesn't sit right with me. He does not look in proportion, or particularly well marked/muscled - perhaps the picture was taken when he was a youngster - I certainly wouldn't want to be tackling big fences on him without some more muscle tone. However, if he does what you say, but without an actual affiliated record, I am sure your friend could get up to the £3500 mark - if you look on horsequest at the moment there are tonnes of horses with proven affiliated/county show records selling for around the £4k mark, so to get that bit more money your friend would have to get a competition record on him. It is a buyers market at the moment, and people are paying much less for proven horses.

Unfortunutely this pic is not fab of him,its one that i quickly put on just for peoples views and to give you a rough idea, well i have said for a little while now that he does look younger than what he is?the pic was taken a few months after my friend got him as a 5 year old,so i suppose it does not do him any justice,he was in a bit of a state and it did take time to get him looking this well,he is now in solid work and has changed shape,if he does come up for sale i will definetly PM you no problem. That is his dams name according to his passport but he is stated on his passport and reg as a warmblood?(please dont shoot me,i dont know very much about this horse just going by what i have been told and seen to some degree). Also i am sure that my friend wants to take up jumping with him as shes not bothered to much about coloured classes,he is a very honest chap and does put 100% in to his work and loves it in the process.Anyway thank you very much everyone for all your comments,i do appreciate it and will pass some on to my friend.
