I am particularly thinking of the salary offered for the position - I have a view but was interested to hear what others thought

Considering the level of responsibility and accountability and the income level required by the charity I'd say that's there or thereabouts.

Oh dear I cannot hold back any longer

I was absolutely appalled when I saw it, I cannot believe that a charity would pay so much to someone in that role

I am certainly never donating to Blue Cross again, I want my money to go towards the welfare of animals not paying some fat-cat director

My sister is applying for it, and she actually said that the income generation targets are not particularly high and the salary is higher than the directors of Oxfam got when she worked there

Perhaps it is just me though

I would assume the role is to increase / grow the income streams not just churn around the same old contacts.

It does seem a lot but to attract quality people in this day and age you need an attractive package and you'll find most charities are run like a business even if that business is to help others.

If the person earning £ 75k generates 7.5m their costs are a very low percentage compared to what they've generated.

IMO its about right.

That was my assumption too LHS or they would hardly be offering that salary package

Still cant agree with it, I know perfectly well that charities need to be run like businesses to survive but it is wholly wrong in my opinion. Still, my sister has an interview for the job on Monday, so perhaps I shouldnt complain further

Those of us who work for charities don't live on a warm glow of good deeds alone.... we do need to eat and put the heating on at times too....
