What do you think of this two year old?

Please look beyond that grass belly and upside down neck!!

Doesn't he look like trouble

He's got good legs, nice and clean.
probably not got the biggest jump - his canon bones on his hind legs are a fraction too long for it, and his thigh isn't the most powerful - but he might change as he grows up.
he's nicely put together - good back and not too much wither.
his nec is a little upside down, but as he gets worked it'll change, and it's in proportion lengthwise to his body.
his face if quite sweet - though the slight w shape to his top lip says he's either an attention seeker or very insecure around humans, but can mean he is quite inquisitive and bright.
his nostrils are quite oval which says he's of average intelligence.
his chin is soft and round, which says he's relatively calm and of average intelligence again.
his eye is triangular, which says he can be nervous or insecure, but is bright if given enough time to work stuff out without pressure.
a slight dished face means he can be sensitive (which kinda goes hand in hand with him being nervous or insecure)
his ears look like they are quite 'fluted' (shaped at the top) which can mean he is sensitive, and intelligent.
his cheek is a nice shape, round and of a good size - which says average intelligence again.
i can't tell how wide his forehead is - but the wider it is the more intelligence he has.
if you can see his eyes clearly from the from he is bold - if you can't he could be spooky or insecure.
the more whirls he has on his forehead the more complicated his character could be.
overall i think he's lovely but you might have a handful with him!

Gosh, didn't know so much detail could be told from the face

If I send you a mug shot of me can you tell me so much

(I'm being seriously!!)

Character wise I would confidently say he is the boldest pony I have ever come to met. Nothing scares him; I honestly worry whether he'll still be with us in a few years the way he walks into danger which is also why he can be quite a hand full. I'd say he was pretty clever too and his dopeyness is deceiving.

It is because of this I was hoping he'd make a mean jumping pony hence wondered what people thought of his conformation. I know he can jump, the 4'9ft fencing proved no problem

I'll pick out his faults if you promise to not take offence (me being the owner of a very bizarre trakhnerxnew forest with the worst confo in the world!)

He's back at the knee and a little long in the hind cannon, otherwise I like his limbs.
His off fore loos a little boxier than the other foot but that could just be the pic.
He's quite straight through the shoulder but thats typical pony.
He is short and thick through the neck, again a pony thing and a lot of the neck can be improved through correct work.
I like the rest of him, particularly his big bottom!

Thank-you Bossanova, I won't take offence

It's nice to know about his conformation, I know abit but more just a eye, I now if I like a backend or not or if the legs don't look right

I do think ( and hope...) attitude and training plays a bigger role.

He's feet to me look sooo boxy but then I'm really used to dishes of tbs excuse of feet.

i'd have put money on you saying that!!!!

here's my Zennica baby....

I'd certainly by another Zenica baby.

Heres a video of Jesse moving for any one interested.

You gonig to sales in Augest at all?

Don't encourage me!! Last time I went I went with a fiver for a burger and came home with two, honestly don't know how we got home we were on empty the whole way and got totaly lost and took a HUGE detour and with no money for petrol! (Might add ponies cost more then the fiver)

I think there could be some bargins with people feeling the pinch and resession looming, or maybe not.

just send one over and i'll have a look - otherwise, find a linda tellington jones book (the one i have is green but no idea what its called)

i find it's suprisingly accurate - and particularly useful for judging a horse's character before you buy it. you do need to realise that there's more than one 'answer' but if you look at the picture as a whole then you get a pretty good idea.
