Horsey that is. She is 2.5 years old. And ever since I have had her aged 9 months she gets herself cast. But people have seen her. She doesn't panic at all, she rocks here self back and forth and get up no problems at all. It is though she does it on purpose!!!
Anyway the other night her shavings bed complete with all bankings was at the front of her stable and she had a couple of grazes above her eye, no blood just grazes. Been to the loo okay but not eaten all her haylage which is not like her. So i suspected slight colic.
Anyway got there this morning. Bed at the front. Grazes on both sides of her face about eyes, graze on hock and on point of both hips. But her rug was completely off and mashed in the middle of her bed with one of the surcingle straps snapped off.
I have two ideas. Lying down and got her hind leg in the surcingle and thrashed about to get up, hence the injuries and the snap to the strap. But there is no grazing around her fetlocks or pasterns to suggest her hind leg was stuck.
Or. Mild colic again. Maybe she got the rug over her head and cos she couldn't see hence the panicking.
There are no scuff marks on the walls to see as she has no shoes on.
I have left her tonight without a rug but it is going to be cold.
Not sure what to do for the best or work out how she could have done the injuries.
Poos in the stable so not bunged up and all haylage been eaten.
Any ideas and well done for getting this far..........
