prince has got these on his lips, it has a little pric dot in the middle, so i dont know wether its him eating the hedges and getting pricked by the thorns or something els, just seems weird how it goes if it was just a little pric. sorry the pics arnt to clear.

daddy swan wasnt to happy to see me and started hissing. needles to say i swiftly turned round and went back haha!
 
are there just the two dots? do you think it could be a bite? i'd be tempted to give it a bit of a squeeze if the horse doesn't object, see if anything comes out! dab with surgical spirit afterwards.
re: swans, one was in the middle of the big river near here as i hacked along the riverbank about 12' above him on a 18 hander, the swan chased me and my horse was absolutely terrified. very brave swan! we exited sharpish too...!
 
theres two on one side and one on the other side but its harder to see in first photo. its suprising how big swans can appear when they defend their young. this is the 3rd year they have been back
 
My horse gets those sores when she's having a resurgence of EHV - sort of like an equine cold sore, as described by my vet. Does he have a temperature, slight clear runny nose, slight cough or raised glands at all?
 
My young mare got something very similar last year. They looked a bit like ulcers. I was told it was likely caused by contact with bittercups.
 
I agree with buttercups, my horse gets little things like this on his face if he is in a field of them, in fact he gets these with lots of flowers bless him, he is allergic to summer!

What sort of field is your horse in, are there lots of plants in there?
 
sorry i havnt replied i couldnt get on here for some reason, dont know if it was just me. yes there are lots of buttercups in my field and a few nettles!
 
One of those will be the culprit - the TB mare I had got them when she went in the field with nettles.

I've not had any problems getting on here in last couple of days but I do sometimes
