after the horses little holiday they all has skin lesions on their lower legs to some degree
i treated it like mud fever-shantih and bey are both clearing up,although much slower than normal(neither are prone to it).they are still out in the day
kay has been out on a turnout pen which isnt muddy-yet her scabs have just moved up her legs!!!!there are even a few scabs on her bottom.can it be spread by contact/brushing?should i wash her legs with diluted hibiscrub and do 'spot' washes on her bottom/back daily to try to clear it up?
ive only ever had mud fever occur on the lower legs!!!shes had a rug on and so its cant be rain scald on her back/bottom.plus shes not been in any wet condidtions for a week-10days!
her feed hasnt changed.they are itchy on her bum but itch and sore on her upper legs.
they are like typical mud fever-dry clumpy scabs that come away with hair.her legs arent hot or sore to prod.
