What do you think to this horse? HM816AB4B

I wouldn't pay £5k for something that jumped like that. But some of that could be because of the rider.

Ask them for some confirmation shots.

The phrase 'needs someone to spend a lot more time with him' worries me! Also, no shots on flat - he doesn't appear to have a lot of topline so have they just jumped him and nothing else? I know it says they've competed dressage but they don't say how well it got on! I'd be a bit wary of this one - always am when it's an urgent sale - business expansion is an odd reason - surely they'd have known they were getting busier?? £5k seems a little bit on the high side - I'd say around £3,500 - £4k was more appropriate.

Quite expensive but i think that is the norm at the moment. I think a horse like that will last you for so so so long! Seems great, worth a look in the flesh defo!!!! Lucky you x x x

Yes Scotsmare I read that and thought I wonder what that really means, I agree he is on the high side on price, but I think people generally inflate the price, don't know why.I will ask for more information and decide if to view him or not.

Amymay, I will re look at the jumping pics, and also ask for some conformation shots.

They could just be not very good photos. I would go and have a look, he may be fantastic on the flat and have great confo, and it may just be that the rider isnt the best which makes his jump look a little strange. And at 7 he is probably still a little green if he has not had much recent schooling.

When I bought my horse the photos did him no justice at all, he had been out of work for a while aswell. He looked a lot better in flesh.

All you can do is go and have a play and see, you never know, maybe the advert doesnt do him justice and you've not lost anything by going to look!

I think people are totally over pricing horses at the moment for £5,000 id expect one hell of a horse which had competed to a reasonably high level not just a nice allrounder with potential but maybe thats just me.

For example i know someone who is trying to sell there horse for £5000 because hes having alot of problems with it, think he only paid about £1500 for it about 3 month ago.

Just saying don't pay more than its worth and if you can afford £5,000 the get yourself a superstar!! Do a detailed search for what you can actually get for that amount, goodluck!

at the moment, £5k is not an unusually high price in and around nottinghamshire for a nice (but not necessarily superstar) horse...£4 - £5 k is pretty much par for the course for something that's been out and done a little bit and is good in traffic etc.

one on the flat
and he is in horse and hound for 5.5k, i have had an eye on wether to go and see him, but its about 3hrs away and i am fed up of travelling to see horses that are just sooooo wrong for me

tbh - looking at these photos he looks very weak - don't like his front end, no topline. would query his age too.

If he is 3hrs away I would save yourself the diesel and not bother, sorry

Hmm not looking so nice now, I know 5k is a lot of money to me, but it wouldn't buy me a superstar, but hopefully something nice.

Think I will give it a miss, I am not going to rush into things can't afford to get it wrong.

Thanks for all your input .
