Ok, so I'm 17 and just got rid of my loan pony of 3 years, as she had reached her full potential and I want to go further, so i've decided to buy.
My parents said they will put £500 towards, and pay for the upkeep, so at the moment I have £1600.
Do you think I should keep saving until I can buy a horse that has done quite a bit, but i would then have to go all summer without a horse.
Or should i keep looking and going to see some. Most that I have seen are 4 y/o that have done a bit and need bringing on.
I would be capable of bringing him on, but I would like to go competing this year, so if i save up and buy one in august when i have more money, i could get a horse that is ready to compete, or i could buy one now - or when i find the right one - bring him on, and then maybe compete later on this year.
What would you do?
In the mean time, i can ride as many horses as I want, as I hae lots of horsey friends, and I am doing some eventing on my friends dutch warmblood
, so i guess if i save up and compete this summer on my friends horse.
sorry if that made no sense at all! I kept changing my mind throughout the post! ha.
basically buy now and bring on OR wait for more money and buy an experienced horse?
