What do you think?

chin up there will be one out there for you, i spent the best part of 9 months looking for my cob up and down the country only to find her at the local horse sales she is now the best weight carrying plod around, good luck in your search.

Hi, lets see if we can make your day more interesting then!!! Criteria-be ready for a long list.
I dont want something too young, so around 10, but would look at probably up to 15.
I need something that is completely safe, no bucking, no rearing, wont mind if we land in a heap after a jump, or be a bit unbalanced.
I need a good strong big boned horse, I am 17 stone, so needs to be comfortable with that.
I will be wanting to do dressage, my husband sj, then beach rides, OH will probably hack, but I will never go out on the roads again, so hacking wise its not so important.
We are in Kent, dont mind a bit of travelling, but not really as far as the outer hebridies(SP)!!!!
Needs to be able to travel in a trailer.
Dont mind mare or gelding, but would prefer gelding.
And I have no more than £3000 to spend.
Its a very very very big ask for that, I know, so Good luck in looking.!

Have you contacted Janet George on here? She breeds ID and ID x. She may know of something even if she herself doesnt have anything for you.

Also sometimes your local hunts/riding clubs might have horses for sale on the websites. Just another place to look.:)

OK just had a look, unfortunately don't know your budget but you do say restricted, other than that only know you need some height, bone and bombproof!! So bear with what I've found!!! Any of these any good?

This one isn't handy as in ireland, and he's only 5, but they do say is a gentleman and bombproof, and I've personally come across some 5 year old who act like 15 year olds!! and viceversa!!: http://www.adhorse.co.uk/horseforsale_28431.html

This one, with the pics listed I can't see how much bone he's got, but sounds a nice boy, would need to establish what bone he's got: http://www.adhorse.co.uk/horseforsale_31209.html

Sorry this latest one fell through!!

If it's any help, this is Cakey who we bought for my OH. OH is 6 foot tall and weighed 17stone when we bought the horse. Unfortunately I don't have any photos of OH on Cakey, but here's me on him (I am 5 foot short and weigh 7 stone so that gives you an idea of the substance of the horse). I think this is the kind of HW, foot in one corner horse that might suit:

This one you can see him bum (we think he has Suffolk Punch in him so he has the typical heart shaped bum of the breed):

So, is he for sale? I have a nice kind loving home, big luffy straw bed, and lots of cuddles waiting for him!

Ashen, the lovely grey was only about 6 miles away from us, we were going to see her, but we had the accident the week before, so couldnt get there and she was sold.

Sorry, he's not :( We've had him for 7 years and he is too much of a pet to ever sell! I've been dithering about whether to post the pics as it does rub it in when you can't find one, but in the end I posted them just to say that you can find these horses, it just takes a bit of time and a bit of luck! Keep looking!!!

Hi Benson,
Thought i would say I believe in the fate thing too. I lost Lizzie my old girl in 2007 before I went to uni. I said no more horses as uni was going to be enough work! Then after 18 months I started helping out at a stud and Oscar found me!! He was one of there babies from the year before. Owner was going to keep him, but as fate had it she didn't and We found each other!!

I know when you are waiting it is so hard. When I was at uni i missed horses so much, but now know waiting was the right thing to do as I have found my soulhorse and i'm looking forward to at least 25 years together!

I will happen. Good luck x x

Arghhhh - I can't belive Denzil has been sold!!

I haven't looked at any of the suggested adverts yet but with everyone looking for you - something is bound to turn up soon!

ETA: Woopsiid - love that one, he sounds a perfect gentleman. Ridiculously cheap too.

Blast!!! I was getting all excited thinking it was going to be a happy ending.

Cakey looks perfect for Benson's requirements - I shall keep my beady eye out.

Didn't you even ring about the Polish mare? (The strawberry roan one?)

I di try on I think it was thursday, but i had this one lined up for today, which, wrongly now I can see, had set my heart on. Been out all day today but gonna phone about ethel and henry tommorrow, also ben told of one about 10 miles away which is possibly for sale, so, busy day tomorrow!

I like the look of both of thoses, although i think I would feel sorry for stan cos obviously he enjoys his hacking so much, and thats something I would never do. And the one in Avon, not sure, may be completely wrong, but I phoned about one in Avon autumn last year and they said she had passed a 5 stage, but then had a severe problem in her back, which is why the sale didnt go through. I would hope not, but I hate to think if its the same horse. as I say, I might be completely wrong and this is a different horse.

Can I just say, thank you all so much for taking your time to look for a horse for me. I really appriciate it, as I say ethel is a definate phone call, as is henry. I hope I have kept you occupied all day!!!

well, made lots of calls, left lots of messages, and spoke to some. So now I just wait!!! Also, been told of one just down the road from us that sounds good, waiting to hear from her.
