I recently changed how I graze my pony by splitting the fields she shares with my 2yo into 4 equal(ish) paddocks & rotating them when the grass gets really low in their current paddock. It's worked really well to keep ontop of their weight but with the grass getting chance to grow back in the other fields, their diet hasn't suffered.
The result is that my pony has reached a nice, even weight. She's not fat but she's not supposed to be thin & fine either.
Now her saddle slips. It was fitted kind of hastily as a replacement by a saddler trying to do us a favour when we were robbed on my previous yard. At the time my pony was really fat, so the saddle is quite wide.
Now, when wearing her "thin" girth & having it as tight as it could go, her saddle slips sideways unless I sit perfectly balanced (not easy, as I've been out of riding for a few months).
Money is an issue but I know I need a saddle that fits asap so I decided to look into synthetic saddles. I found the Wintec New 250 All Purpose saddle in the Robinsons catalogue at £240 & would be really chuffed if this saddle is good & I can get one of these. I have a couple of saddlers near me that I can go & check out too but I was wondering..

Does anyone on here have a Wintec synthetic saddle/know anyone that has/got any feedback from them they can tell me? I want to make sure it'll be a good saddle that I won't regret buying before I part with my money.

Thanks :)

I have a Wintec on my Welsh x Arab, i don't ride much in it as my mum has taken over his exercise, but I like it, they fit most horses but i suggest you see if someone has a horse you can ride to try it first before you ride then speak to your saddler and check a wintec is somehting that can be made to fit your pony.

We have the Throwgood t4 cob for a flat backed round cob and thats fantastic as has the 'Y' girthing system which helps give a little more stability and stop the saddle slipping. Also have a wintec with the changeable gullets which i find useful for my growing youngsters as good when they fill out / muscle up, i also combine this saddle with numerous fluffy sadle cloths and back pads to fine tune my horses comfort and fit.
Onyl downside for me is ive never personally got on with them from my riding comfort everyone else who rides in them likes them i just miss my HDR Event lol i will get her one when shes done growing. Can pick up the wintecs and throwgoods cheap on ebay but if you could borrow one to try out see which fits your horse best and also see if you liek riding in it too always best before you splash the cash. though if not possible i have often just bought 2nd hand and if no good sold on again but can't always gaurentee you get what you paid for it though occasionally i get an ebay bargain and sometimes mange to sell on for profit
