What do you think?

Music is not for that horse, you need to try and have it so that the horse looks as if its moving to the music, so for the music you used you would be looking at a horse galloping and excitement. You can get compilation CD's which are great to just ride to at different paces to see what fits the way the horse goes, then you can speed or slow the beat a little bit on the computer so that it really matches well. Its also worth videoing a normal test so you can get the horses way of going at a show (if it livens up away from home) then sit and play loads of stuff while you watch it back on the tv as that saves a hell of a lot of riding in the school and you can just concentrate on the music that looks as if it fits.

Music was done by a pro that advertises in dressage mag. Our first impession was it was too fast but we have watched it a few times and now quite like it [the canter music looks good ,shame it didn't work].The only thing is the judge will only see it once! We have already qualified with our original music and we will get a chance to test this one at a comp .this week. Thanks for the comments.

The music was my music from my horse 15 years ago which was used for medium and had been shortened. Used it twice and both judges thought it didn't fit the horses paces. It was hello dolly/sunrise sunset/money makes the world go round. It was a bit dated and we thought we should try a pro to get a really good one.It is my daughter who rides now.I wish I could have shown you the whole thing. It is expensive to get these discs done and if the judge doesn't like it ,it is a waste.
My friend didn't like hers from another company and they were not interested ,she has had another one done by same man as us and likes new one.

Mmmm, sorry, I'm not a fan of it either.

The underlying beat is just about fitting but the tune over the top gives the impression you should be flying about!

It is often difficult to find music that all judges like. At the Trainers Forum last year, one rider had music that I hated, several judges were indifferent, one loved it and one hated it!

When you do find something that everyone loves it's very precious!

Thanks, I wish people would post about it.It does seem a bit of a lottery with the companies that are doing these discs. You don't see or hear them before you get them and they ask you what type of music you like, but that might not suit the horse.
Then they seem to not want to change anything[although I have not asked for anything yet.]
We have hired Solihull tomorrow to work on floorplan and see how it goes on Monday ,but it is a lot of money if it doesn't work!

Having done quite a lot of dressage to music successfully and watched an awful lot of it, I really quite liked the trot music IF it had gone perfectly to your horse's stride. Unfortunately, it didn't. I liked the fact that it was quite strong music for quite a strong looking horse. The walk music (the little I heard of it) was horrid though. Sorry.

I agree with GD - you can't beat using your own music. If necessary, source your own music and give the CD to the pro company to put it together for you. I have about 200 CDs that I use for dressage to music, and it contains everything from Laurel and Hardy to big band to circus music to rock music. But everything you choose should have a solid beat.

I like your horse - nice riding horse. Stop doing dressage and do some showing!

Sorry - I really hated the music - in fact I turned the sound down so I could watch your horse without the noise

He has a very nice balanced movement - the music made him look a bit stuffy because it was so 'frantic' for want of a better word - when the horse isn't it's just the wrong music for him.
Sorry to hear that you have spent a lot of money on this.
