What do you use for washing your horse?

I'm about to go and give Ellie a bath in preparation for our show on Sunday....I'm just curious as to what types of shampoo everyone uses on their horse?

I occasionally use Dermoline, which smells lovely, but if I've run out (as I have at the moment) I often find myself stealing my brother's Head & Shoulders from the bathroom instead

Well, he uses it on the dogs, why can't I use it on my horse!?

For tails, I have a big bottle of Asda's cheapest own brand conditioner, which works wonders!

So really, tend to use a mixture of human and equine products. What does everyone else do?

I've got the remnants of organic shampoo that OH made for me when we were thinking of going into the horse shampoo market

It's lovely, but tres expensive to make

I've also got the remains of all the anti-fungal shampoos my mum has bought over the years in an attempt to cure Chloe's mudrash.

And I've got lots and lots of bottles of baby shampoo as well (from OH again

)

You would think I had a very clean horse with all this shampoo, but I haven't bothered to bath her properly for a long time, hence the stockpiles

Boots own Lavender shampoo and then the matching conditioner. Heaven on earth, plus its a soft lilac colour which is my next fave colour to pink! (Yes, I know I'm a saddo and old enough to know better!)

I use Original Source Mint and Tea Tree Shampoo as my boy gets sweet itch. I use it myself too and its really cooling, it really cools the skin and stops him itching. Through winter i use whatever is lying around

Dream Coat normally- and Malacetic (from the vets) for Solo's legs- it helps 'lift' his mudfever scabs off. They only get a bath at the beginning of summer though.

Whatever I tend to have closest at the time!

Yesterday it was Tresemme, although numpty here didn't read the bit that said 'volumising' properly ... now my poor horse has a mane that sticks straight up. I even tried plaiting it, and the plaits are just sticking up!

Tesco's apple shampoo and seperate conditioner!
Or if Im feeling generous then Johnsons baby shampoo.

But the stuff 28-Jen-28 used on her boy was brilliant so I might splash out on Bear for the next show!!
