Just wondering what everyone uses to tie their horse up. I use bailing twine at the stable but what do people use in a trailer and at shows on the outside of the trailer?

Ah, good stuff - I was starting to wonder whether I was the only one (the ladies down the road keep tut-tutting about how it doesn't always break).

true, it doesn't always break, but majority of the time it does. These safety tie things can pop open at the blink of an eye, which can be worse imo.

I use old fashioned, sisal, baler twine. My OH has very old baler and its the only stuff that will bale the hay successfully. The sisal baler twine breaks easier than plastic.

Baler twine, but I cut half way into it to create a weak/ breaking point.

Bailer twine in yard.

In lorry and trailer we use straps with panic links, much easier than tying up with a lead rope.

My mare is tied to an old rubber bicycle inner tube. When I bought her she used to pull back and snap everything. She didn't panick just did it for the fun of it! Since the rubber she can't get enough pressure on to snap it. Mares eh!

Baler twine at the yard but in in lorry i have the quick release panic ties & i never tie up outside of the lorry

I don't have a lorry but read a Tim Stockdale article once where he said that he thought tying up on the outside of a lorry was dangerous
