What do you wear to ride in?

Jods/breeches everytime,(unless being stuck on something thats messing about!!) cant see how anything else can be comfortable!!

Me too...breeches and long boots generally- although I do keep a pair of chaps in the lock-up so if I am in my jeans and yard boots I can stick em on and off we go. Have to say though....I feel all 'floppy' without me Bromonts:eek:

Always ride in jods / breeches and long leather boots, whatever I am doing. Boots help to keep my leg in correct position and I find the jods the most comfy. Plus just spent too much on a new saddle to so wouldn't want to scratch it with jeans, which I have found happens, plus the rubs from the seams of jeans on the inner knee - owwww!!

I've always ridden in Jodhpurs with my short boots and chaps, or long boots when I had them. Can't imagine wearing anything else
Just been talking to a friend who hates jodhpurs and rides in jeans.

So what do you ride in, jodhpurs or jeans/trackies?
and if you don't wear jodhpurs what footwear do you wear?

Same as you, always jodhpurs, people on the yard where jeans, I wouldn't feel right riding in jeans.

I always always wear jeans and long boots (country boots) or short boots with chaps, the only exceptions are; xc schooling, hunting, competing. I even have all my dressage lessons wearing jeans! :o That must be terribly bad etiquette!! I despise Jods!

Jodhs, jeans, pyjama bottoms, anything! All with my boots and chaps or wellies, depending on how much yard work I'm doing. If theres mucking out, I don't bother with boots, just wellies. I am not a fan of Jodhs really. Make my legs look a 6year olds. :(

After an embarrasing incident when I agreed to hack out with a younger girl who spent the entire ride dismounting, bursting into tears then insisting I helped her remount! GRR! (never EVER again)

I came to remount my own pony (probably the 12th or so time in 1 hour...) and my jeans split... the trouser leg practically ripped off! I know that is not normal circumstances, but they were new jeans! Since then I have never ridden in jeans >:(

I ride in jodhs and long boots , they are the most comfortable. I do have some very soft trakkies that I ride in when I am in slob mode though.

Nobody I ride with really rides in jeans either come to think of it!

I used to ride in Jodhpurs and wellies, then moved on to Jodphurs and long rubber riding boots, then to limit luggage brought on summer hols last year, finally got short boots and suede half chaps. Now I can't imagine how I lived without them! When I go to the yard I just stuff everything in a duffle, and clip on a boot bag over the shoulder strap if I'm going in the car.

Always wear black jodhpurs or dark stretchy legging jeans at home, with my long leather boots. I hate having to wear cream jods/ breeches at shows.

After managing to get through a couple of pairs of jodphurs a month I changed to jeans, although I have had a couple of embarassing jean splitting moments...

around the yard - breeches, and Ariat Grasmere - generally with a Joules polo/sweater/gilet
riding - (I overheat as have heat induced urticaria!) breeches, Ariat short zip boots, chaps and vest or polo shirt

I always wear over the knee socks too (pushed down to the knee) often black, but sometimes crazy colours!

For everyday riding I always ride in jodhpurs or breeches and my long brown mountain horse boots. A nice polo shirt with either a fleece or gillet on top, depending on the weather. I used to wear short boots and chaps but found that when I went to competitions and had to ride in my long boots it felt very odd and I didn't ride as well.

I look seriously messy when I ride, luckily I keep mine at home and its pretty private in the paddock where I ride so I can get away with it! I normally wear trackie bottoms with whatever scabby short boots I can find with Sockchaps (Nellie O' Neil) pulled over the top and a really big sweatshirt! For lessons I usually ride in jeans.

I've pretty much always ridden in Breeches, short boots & chaps, or long boots if i'm having a lesson, (when i was little it was jodpuers & short boots)

I did go through a phase of riding in jeans (or suit trousers if i was really in a rush) but my husband realised they were my £200 ones & was decidedly unimpressed!!

Wear jodphurs/breechs - I have turfmasters water resistant ones which are super comfy, although a size too big so they keep falling down :o

Wear joddy boots and chaps to ride in :)

I wear them for lessons too.

If just going for a hack will wear tracksuit bottoms and my dubarrys :)

Usually my black or light blue johds, a big rugby shirt or a joules polo shirt, short boots and chaps. In winter I just add my John Whitaker coat and maybe a pair of tights under the johds :) xx

What ever clothes I wore to work in the day (and I work in a lab not with horses) so that the next day when I wear them again they smell lovely and horsey. Ususally it's jeans and the most battered short boots with a zip down the front and short chaps

(if anyone knows where I can get another pair of short hunter boots with a zip in the front please let me know as I think they stopped making them and I just love them!)

Ordinarily I ride in jods and long boots.
I do not like short boots, tried them and could not get along with them, used long boots for the last 18/19yrs riding and love them.
Lately I have been riding in jeans and wellies though, this is because the only pair of jods that fit me have no worn away, they have holes and no working zip!
In fact I am going to go on ebay and look for some now :D

Jodhpurs, short boots and chaps, but if I can't find any jodhpurs, then its trackies and chaps. I can't ride without chaps, i don't know how people can haha. I go to the yard in normally trackies or jodhs though :)

We wear jods at work as is smarter to teach in/set example etc but usually I would ride in jeans and long boots for schooling/galloping about but if Im just going out for a stroll the Dubarrys stay on.

I generally ride in jods with short boots/chaps in the summer and Dubarrys in the winter when the short boots can't cope with the water table in the field. However, If an unexpected opportunity comes along, I'll hop on regardless of what I'm wearing - jeans, shorts and bikini top, whatever. Not always a pretty sight but I always wear decent footwear and my hat.
