what do you wear to ride? Jods, leggings etc

Always breeches.
Having always been a die-hard Pikeur kind of a girl my current set are at the point of being worn out and needing replacing.

As I don’t generally do anything posh on a horse anymore I decided to try a pair of Dublin denim breeches. OMG they are the most divine bit of equine kit ever. So I live in those now

Usually breeches (Pikeur or Cavallo) with either full seat or silicon grips. I sometimes ride in riding tights (Dublin warm-it or Horseware) but always with some grippy stuff. Many years I was wearing my Musto snug riding tights which had no grippy bits and slid right off the back of the saddle when jumping.

Mostly, Shires Wessex knit-leg breeches. I'm a short-arse, so they're about the same length as jods, but the knit bottom means they're still comfy under long boots.

I've tried multiple other brands/styles (but only when they're on clearance!) and keep coming back to the cheap reliables.

I do like the look of some of the riding tights but a) I have a lot of wobbly bits b) they all seem to come up with REALLY long legs, meaning sticky 'knee' patches are covered by my boots c) holy crap, they're expensive.

Jods or breeches occasionally skinny jeans if I have them on and can't be arsed to change, I am not keen on the riding tights they seem too thin and just look like gym leggings which i will happily work out in but to me I don't think I would find them comfy to ride in.

I have a bit of riding trousers collection!! Though most were bought second hand very cheaply. I will only ride in full seat, and definitely nothing slippery.

9 pairs of Pikeur Lugana full seat breeches in various states of repair. 3 summer pairs. 2 white for competing. 4 winter pairs which are wind and rain proof with fleece lining

1 pair of Pikeur Gia full seat, fairly thick riding leggings.

2 pairs of Noble Outfitters full seat riding tights – very durable, super comfortable, cool and thick enough to be fairly flattering

1 pair of Snuggy hoods full seat riding tights– thick enough and okay

I am moving away from breeches towards tights, I think. But nothing beats winter breeches for miserable winter weather.

Jeans - as soon as they get demoted from going out, to everyday, then riding jeans!

Never been into spending money on ‘riding’ clothes, that get covered in dirt, slobber and hair!

But I do always invest in a good coat and boots.

I always ride in long boots so its breeches for me. I do have 2 pairs of riding tights but dont wear them much although the kingsland ones are lovely but I dont like riding in them as much as breeches

Jodphurs, whatever I can find that are pull on and in a long leg. I had an umbilical hernia op a couple of years ago and now can't bear any kind of closure near my stomach. I do have some riding tights, which feel comfy on but in winter don't keep out the cold very well. I can imagine them also being horrible and sweaty in summer.

Convert to riding tights here! Breeches in the winter cos I’ve got short legs and haven’t yet found a good winter riding tight that doesn’t fall down. Tights can be a bit slippy for xc but fine for everything else as I only like knee patch ones not the full seat ones. They could do with making more ones with pockets though for your phone n bits n pieces.

Jeans/sport leggings/riding tights/breeches/pyjamas if I'm riding first thing or working in at an away show:) Although I forget that BYDRS people tend to wear matchy stuff for arena walks not pyjamas like us showing lot lol

Some are quite pricy. I used to worry about my wobbly bits on them but actually they seem to hold and lift a bit - I was quite impressed with my own arse when I forst tried them - which for me, is now a big part of their appeal!

Mine has a zip phone pocket - but my new phone is ridiculously large and doesn't fit!

I rotate the same two pairs of breeches - one Montar and one Noble Outfitters. A lot of the big-name brands are too big for me unless I buy the child version (which is actually great, because they're usually cheaper ;)).

Aztec Diamond breeches are expensive poor quality tat.
