Im 5ft 4 and weigh about 12stone 3 atm. I have a 15.2 tb x section d with about 8 1/2 inches of bone. She seems to carry me ok - however only in walk and for about 15 minutes as shes only just been broken LOL
I have no idea what I weigh, but am 5'2" and a size 12 - my horse is 14.3hh and quite chunky and carries me easily. Will have to exercise my daughter's 14.1hh pony this winter and I would like to lose a little weight before I do so.
OOooh well done rforsyth for owning up! I am about 13stone 7 and I am 5ft 7in. I ride a 17.1hh Trakehner who certainly doesn't seem bothered by my weight!! I used to have a 16hh french trotter who was fine too - and I rode him in a western saddle which was quite heavy. No-one ever said I looked too big for him. (mind you I was about a stone lighter then!)
Good God - all these 5ft10 people saying they are 10stone or in Kerilli's case 10 and a half with a
and wanting to lose half a stone
I am 5ft10 and a bit and I weight 12 and a half stone (I am guessing, could be 12, but doubt it is below) and I wear a size 12 (or 10 or 14 depending on shop
) I am deffo NOT anywhere near overweight, cannot understand why people 2 stone less than me think they need to lose weight
ETS: I have a 16.2hh Oldenburg mare. I ride anything that is 15.2hh and over and I can honestly say I have NEVER had a horse struggle with my weight!
I weigh just below 9 stone, 5 foot 5 ish and ride a 15hh anglo arabXwelsh. Personally i wouldn't feel right ridig anything smaller properly and if i had a real tb type i would probs want them a couple of inches bigger, just so i don't feel mean. I also ride a huuuuge 17.2hh (atleast!!) WB who to be honest i feel slightly small on (when i have my stirrups jumping length my feet aren't far past the flaps!!!)
10 stone,probably should lose a few. 5 foot 4 and 13.2's, from lw B's to heavy section C's. All cope fine, but I am careful with the tiddlers, but Pip who is very full up, hackney, TB welsh mix copes fine with me , and Ginga barely notices me as a section C.
Am 15 stone and ride a 15.1hh traditional heavyweight cob. I am aware I need to lose a couple fo stone but horsie doesn;t seem to struggle with carrying me and can still be an idiot and bounce around with me on board!!!
I vary from 7 1/2 to 8 1/2 stone (I can gain or lose a stone in a week without even realising
)
Till's is now about 16.1hh and fairly lightweight (and still a baby!) so I doubt I am too heavy for her and didn't worry too much about her carrying my weight when we brought her into ridden work at 3. That said, I wouldn't let my OH on her yet as he's 6ft and about 11 1/2 stone and I don't feel she has the balance or muscle to cope with that yet!
I'm just over 10 stone, 5'10 and ride a 15:3 MW. I would really also like to ride my daughters 12:3 welsh C ( to help exercise in the winter) but worry I'd be too heavy.
15stone 13lb........ Im on a diet hence so precise!!
Horsey i ride is 17hh, and a dutch something or other, quite chunky but not in a cob way, doesnt struggle with me at all, neither did his 16.2 IDxTB field mate!
