I am 12 1/2 stone, slowly going down, 5ft 7. And I ride my two, HW 15.3hh cob and 15.1hh MW cob.
At work I ride a 17hh MW BSH, 17hh TB and will be hacking (mainly walk) a 16.1hh TB when he comes home. I have hacked a 15.3hh TB but I don't feel comftable, she is now a full time broodmare so I don't need to worry.
And 5ft6, could do with losing a bit... Ride a range of horses, but mine is a LW 15hh Trakkie x Riding Pony. But vet told me sha can carry up to 10 stone easily so I'm ok atm
I was actually getting myself a bit upset with the weight posts here. But there are a couple of other heavyweights like myself, so I will own up to my weight and height.
17 stone, and 5 foot 7. I ride a 17 hand chunky Hannoverian, and another 17 hand chunky warmblood/irish type.
In the 3 months I have been riding again, I have lost a stone. I managed to lose about half a stone in two weeks, which is probably unhealthy but I didn't do anything special to lose it. The best thing for my weight loss has been helping at the stables and riding 6 days a week. Of course, now the weight loss seems to be slowing down - maybe because I am gaining muscle?
I have been lucky enough to find a riding school that will take me, and riding again has done wonders for my confidence and fitness. I am hoping to get down to 14 stone in the near(ish!) future, with a goal of 12 stone eventually. The horse I ride looks like a middleweight gentleman's hunter type - he doesn't seem to have any problem with my weight, and I imagine that he was bred for just that kind of weight carrying ability.

I still win !!! I have a few lbs on you
Here's a recent piccie of me and one of mine...does he look uncomfortable to you
I vary between 9st and 9 1/2 st and am 5'6" and ride a 16hh medium weight horse. Mind you this time last year I was a LOT heavier and I have been dieting like mad because I felt I was too heavy for my horse. It was this as an incentive that kept me on the diet and its the incentive I need to stop me putting it back on too!
5ft3 12 stone. And i ride, a 13.2 SHP for schooling occasionaly, a 14hh connemara everyday of the week for a good few hours and a 16hh show hack!
my sister is approaching the 14stone mark and rides a 15hh arab
I am 8.5 stone and own two 14.2's
My TB filly will make around 16hh (my OH will ride her, he is 6ft and weighs around 12 stone)
we have a shettie that I have had a wizz around on lol
i weigh 9 stone 6lbs and im 6ft - Bloss is 16'1 and Archie is 17'3. i often school some ponies at my yard too, and they are around 14'1 ish. Im just tall, not heavy!!
Im 5'6" and weigh 10stone merlin is a 15.1hh medium build horse with about 8.5 inches of bone.... seems ok to me but physio says he shouldnt carry more than 10stone????
5ft 8 and 17 stone ( was heavier at one time lol and riding)
My horse is a 16.3 clydesdale cross with 11 inch of bone, daughter's cob is a heavyweight with between 10 and 10 1/2 inch of bone and 14.3 I will be riding the latter one day though when I have lost some weight.
My horse carries me fine no worries and has cantered/galloped no problems and to be honest I think the cob would. However because he is young and not had much work and may have weak back muscles I would not want him to develop problems or a 'dipped' back hence the reason I am waiting.
