Only get a horse if you are 100% confident that you will be able to financially keep your horse as well as keep them til the end

Dont be deluded at amount of work and upkeep, make sure it does what it says on box.

Don't take a 'friends' word for it! I ended up not having him vetted as my friend worked for the stud, and it turned out later that the 4 year old broken gelding I had bought was 7, and had bucked off everyone who had tried to break him, and he had low ringbone!
I, in my ignorance, just got on and took him out on the road.
