As above really, foods/treats that your horse finds irresistible. :)

My horse is one of those 'stressy types' and if he has something delicious to lick/nibble when he is upset about something (anything!) he really calms down. so looking for something to distract/self soothe him.

Or maybe some home made recipes?!

XXX Strong Mints. My 2 will do ANYTHING for those :) Not just any old mint, its got to be those. Just the rustle of the paper and they are suddenly my best friends ;)

Sorreen Malt loaf is one of their faves too, but really they don't come close to the Xtra Strong Mints

Mine love the Marksway Horsehage, they go crazy for it.....I don't use it as their main forage, they have soaked hay but they have small amount after work and a few handfuls as a treat, it smells amazing.

It even worked enough to distract my very needle-phobic stressy pony enough to have his vaccination with little fuss which was a miracle! Don't think it would work so well if they had access to it all the time though, i keep it just for treats :)

My old cob used to dribble and his knees would tremble at the sight of a banana. The old hunter who did a lot of public stuff, p to p's etc, would nick any unsuspecting childs candyfloss, he loved the stuff.

Mine adores NAF minty treats...actually the whole yard does, I get mobbed for them as I walk down the aisle! She also likes Horslyx (is that how you spell it) the original flavor.

:P

mine goes crazy for goose grass!! you know that sticky grass you stick to your siblings back?! :p LOVES it!!
other than that and herbal treats/minty treats...thats it! Im thinking about making him some kind of horsey flapjack type stuff to nibble/lick to keep him occupied.

Horse 1 will do anything for a carrot, 2 will do anything for Grannies raisin and cinnamon cookies, 3 peanut butter. 4 toast, 5 apples, 6 anything that rustles in bag and lastly Horse 7 is all of the above in fact anything human!!;)

Appy will eat just about anything apart from sausages :o but favourites between the two of them are:

Clop muesli bar
XXX strong mints
Pears

Not so PC favourites:
Chocolate
Buttered toast
Pastry
Ham sandwiches

Pretty much anything that can fit in the mouth - leadropes, any kind of fake fur on a hood is her particular favourite if your not paying attention :)

The 2 boys adore cow parsley.
They've also recently had soaked grass nuts added to their feeds...oh my word! They adore the stuff :)

How long have you got?

Kali is a piglet. He loves those herbal Badminton treat thingies - particularly if they're in a treat ball and he gets to abuse the ball (or me) to get the treats out. He's a complete fool for Alfa A Molasses Free, but given his current bout of laminitis, he may have to go cold turkey. He'd sell his grandmother, me and probably his treat ball for an extra strong mint . . . but no more of those now. He's been known to snaffle sausage rolls during a hunt meet. He once swiped half a prawn salad sarnie off me when I wasn't looking. He adores tea and coffee (not that he gets very much of it). He quite likes apples and carrots, but he'd rather have a banana . . . but, again, he doesn't get them very often. I've discovered he really likes nettles and hawthorn - but that could be because he's self medicating. And his absolute, first and special love is cow parsley . . . it's like a drug to him.

With Jason it's just food, any food. But bear in mind this was the horse who tucked into cat litter that had been use in a drip tray when the Pajero had a bad oil leak!
He is also rather partial to a Hot Cross Bun washed down with a cup of tea.

Extra strong mints! Seen here frisking me for mints - I'd had them inside my glove when I'd shown the yearling the day before

just the general treats really. she loves polos and apples the best though. she likes her chaff more than treats to be honest. when she sees me with her treats or feed she tucks her head in and looks stunning unfortunately thats the only time she holds herself properly otherwise her heads flying up and down everywhere even with a martingale.
