What do your Labrador's weigh?

I think it’s because they are bred to work so their working ability is far more important than their size.
Ffee and Scout are bred by people who work their dogs in Wales and are big, rangey dogs, they move like hounds and I’ve always said could double as harriers.
Pen was bred for Newmarket partridges and does get tired in the extreme country we have here.

I like the smaller ones I think they have prettier faces especially Bert and Clover both such lovely looking dogs.

I do think as a few people have said alot are over fed so look huge but it's just the extra weight.
Aw thank you!I think he has a pretty face. Mr P calls him pointy nose  (we call Mr P Fat-head) He says he's ugly because he's not chunky enough!
He's going to be bigger than Spud I think, He is taller now slightly but still lanky looking. Spud is short and square. I've always been quite a fan of his shape. Beautiful neat round paws and straight legs (after little Doug I always look at dogs and awe at their straight front legs, I know its actually normal 🤣)

I think his lovely and lab's are not my thing I worked at a yard that had a truly evil one 🤣 he was a real bugger.

Mine are massive compared to everyone else’s 😮

They’re both working labs and are definitely not fat. In fact, I think my girl could do with putting on some weight as she’s naturally very lean.

Yellow bitch, spayed, 6yo - 29kg
Red dog, neutered, 11 months - 36kg 😧

Big ones like that are much in demand here for the water work. No one would ask little Pen to retrieve a Canada goose on an ebb tide!

I don’t notice such variation in other breeds but I suppose I may not be looking!
It is there in some other breeds. Aussie Shepherds for example seem to go from 14kg for some dainty females to over 30 kg for some of the bigger males.
I know if I see a Shepherd-y dog around here, I ask what it is because Aussies, American miniatures and border collies can be hard tell apart because of the variation within the breeds and people always cross them as well.

Stirling is a chunky show type and was 34kg , but with extra walks and measuring his feed he’s now 32kg. He has a waist and plenty of muscle and keeps up with his working lab and working clumber friends no problem .

Getting 2kg off a show lab is impressive 👏🏾. He looks good at 32kg

Oldest Max (9yo black boy) is 32kg and in perfect condition according to vet, he is quite a big dog but looks like he is from working lines. Middle is Red (7yo 'red' boy) and he was 29kg at his vet check/jab the other week, usually about 27.5kg, vet said that is a better weight for him but he is still fit and has a waist. Youngest Nala (4.5yo choc girl) is 25.5kg, she is also spot on weight wise.

My yellow (10) is 23kg and black (3) who is much taller is about 27kg Don't know the yellow's breeding but i'd guess a mix of show and working whilst the black is all working.

These labs are beautiful. Makes me want one! When I worked at the vets I dreaded labs as they were nearly all show bred overweight types. Not unusual for them to weigh in over 40kgs!

I was never a fan. When we were looking for our first dog we argued a lot over it. I wanted a JRT and my OH wanted a lab or spaniel.
He won because our neighbour knew a puppy that was looking for a home so we had him. I love them now, but as you say nice ones!
