What do your ponies and doggies think of snow?

My 9 month old puppy saw snow for the first time today - she is not impressed! She stands in it shaking and sniffing, looking really confused! She doesn't like to get her feet wet, so I think it is torture for her - we are taking her for a walk in a bit, so she will hopefully get used to it and enjoy it!

Horse doesn't seem to be bothered with it - will see later when I ride him.

my dogs love it , we have a minature schnauzer that we lose in the snow cause she is so small !!! this is my first winter with my horse so i don;t know if he likes it or not but i can't oimagine any horses hating snow ! !

My lab cross can't get enough. The little lad hates it. Cold and wet two of his worst things. Pony wise the younger ones seem to take or leave it but my 32 year old loves rolling in the snow and can get quite strong when turning out in it.

haha, our little dog's belly get soaked! She's a Shetland Sheepdog but she's very small :) our Border Collie just runs round and round our garden

My boy cavalier king charles spaniel loves it but my girl cavalier hates it!! Coblet has gone out and he's mooching round quite happy, he's 19 so he can't be bothered to run around like a mad thing unlike my nieces pony who is pouncing around in it!

Our male CKC Spaniel loves it, have some brillant photos from yesterday of him in it. Even for the breed he's really small, it comes up to his tummy! Bella (my horse) doesn't really approve, she much prefers being tucked up warm in her stable with some haylage! :)

My indoor cats were given the chance to go out this morning as there is very little traffic, First one shot out and sank, managed to get it together and ran into the hedge, by the time I came back a couple of minutes later I saw him disappearing at high speed into the house, all fluffed up past his sister who was fully hackles up and bottle brush tail. I don't think they liked it.

All the horses and ponies are excited by it. WOrst problem has been Section A who had a roll and got stuck on her back as she's not heavy enough to squash the bank she'd made as she started to go over. Once she realised and rolled the other way she was fine though.

Put 8 month old foalie out this morning, eyes like saucers and tip toed to the paddock. Put her 28 year old nanny out with her for company and to keep foalie sensible.

Camera at the ready - nothing !! just stood there with a look of 'you must be joking' the 28 yr old set off bucking snorting and rolling.

Foalie had a little walk round and then stood at the gate watching us do the yard. She's back in now with a pile of haylage and a clean bed, I don't think winter activities are on her agenda.

It sends my dog crazy :D

:p :D :D :D

my dogs love it, and 3/4 ponies do. just my one girl who is prone to a bad back- if she gets cold she hates it as we think it hurts her via muscle spasms. she loves it for a short time though

Ponies love it, had a few hours out this morning, there fave thing was the rolling all three were down rolling. Now happily munching on hay.

Doggies love it so much, running around loopy this morning. Now snuggled up in front of the fire till there next trip down the yard.

We've barely had any here but did have some short showers yesterday. Pony not impressed although he has been known to have fun when there's been snow on the ground. My dog loves it but sadly hasn't had any to play with yet this year.

Both dogs love it! Golden Retreiver loves ploughing around in it.

The older horses aren't bothered or interested, happy in their stables watching it all. My youngster has a snow moustache. She loves it!

The dog was just like Pluto when I let her out this morning. The horses are loving it except for my mare because she hates her fur getting in a mess and absolutely had to have her face and neck towel dried (this is a horse that has lived out since birth :o)

My dog, a 12 year old GSD LOVES the snow!! She went from being a wobbly doddery dog to 'running' nose down scooping the snow up today! She was in heaven last year when it really snowed here.

The horse likes it too - she was excited to get out the stable and as soon as I un-clipped the lead rope - she was off and rolling! Bless - I think they are metal!

Our german pointer loves it and all the ponies love it, 8 month old cob fist time seeing it today and didn't want to go back to bed tonight, two tbs are currently rolling and running around and not the slightest bit bothered about the big box of hay and their dinner!! Silly ponies

Well my dog, a year old bullmastiff was scared of it last night because everywhere looked funny was even howling at the snow covered bushes in the garden! But has played out in the fields with the kids nearly all day so I think she's got over it. She found it especially exciting when the girls were making snow angles. The horses were very excited when I turned them out but have spent must of the day hanging around the top of the field, didn't even bother to clear up their hay and then didn't want to come in....no pleasing some people!

Dog was reluctant to leave her bed this morning, but the call of going to the Dizzys' field was too much for her, although she was tip toeing so much I thought I ought to fit wellies onto her  (she's a rottie btw lol)

Dizzy was loving the snow (well, he is Russian lol) and helped us to make a snowman by pushing the snow balls across the ground with his nose :D Unfortuantely when we went back this evening, poor snowman no longer had his carrot eyes, buttons or nose

My mally loves the snow - as soon as we opened the garden gate she padded outside and plopped herself down as hasn't budged too much. I think she knows she's Alaskan ;)

Pony loves the snow too - he always tries to lap it up. He's out on loan at the mo but his loaner got some great photos of him in the snow.

He's such a little cutie pie.

Puggy loves it :D I've been throwing snowballs at her and she's been catching them in her mouth lol. The Jack Russell isn't so keen, he's been going out for a wee right by the back door then scratching to come straight back in!

Pony thought it was a bit of an inconvieneance really having to find his grass in the field , at first he was confused what had taken the grass and made it cold and wet but as soon as he realised the grass was still there he didnt lift his head all day .

3B that photo of your dog is one of the funniest thigs ever!
