What does a 'false outline' look like?

Is this where the head is pulled in, but the back is hollow, so hind legs trail? Trying to fill in some gaps in my knowledge..

yep tht covers it, a true outline should run from nose to tail, false usually just head and neck, often cos they overbent and behind the bridle
 
once they are working better they feel better - much more bouncy and soft in your hand

don't confuse bouncy with fast - I am still learning!!
 
Look at the base of the neck, just infront of the whithers. You should see the muscle moving as the horse works. A lot of horses break in the neck which allows them not use their hindlegs.

but in the first pic you can see where its back is dipping away from the rider, and in the second pic the horse has elevated its forehand
