..up on the farm?
Im really bored, so excuse my random posts
smile.gif
. BUT i saw this girl at the farm last night wearing real uggs, henleys jeans and a floaty white top with loads of make up on and her hair all done nicely. Im sorry but she was mucking out and when I came back from a hack I saw her absolutely covered in sh*t! I wear my jods, wellies and any top.
No offence to anyone if they get all done up to go to the farm but I dont see the point i really dont think the horses mind what we look like!
What are your opinions?

jodhs, aertex, fleece, jacket, moisturiser. wellies or ariats. nothing expensive, that's for sure! no light colours, everything easily washable. i never wear any makeup at all when doing the horses, what on earth is the point?! also, i quite like the fact that when i do make an effort i look completely different and people are really shocked that i can scrub up so well!

Well you never know if you are going to see some hunky young farmer do you

If I'm just going to muck out then old jeans, muck boots and any old jumper will do me fine. If I'm riding as well then jods instead of jeans and jod boots.

jodhs, jongleurs t-shirt (i used to work for them so have many, plus lots of different drink branded ones

), then a hoody of some description or my very old (it's lasted 10 years!!!) Musto blouson - love it! with country wide wellies or my mountain horse rider classics for the yard... with thermatex gloves, scarf and when it's very cold ear muffs

oh and fleecy trousers when it's freezing!

oh weelll thats another story if thers some hunky farmer

Whatever im wearing at that time.

If im doing nothing apart from riding on that day then I go up in jeans and wellies and a joules top usually. But if im not riding or just going to muck out I just wear whatever, usually my uggs (

) jeans and a top or when I used to go to 6th form I used to muck out with skirts on

In the summer its usually shorts strappy tops and bikinis.

I know someone just like this. Always got a full face of makeup on, hair looking like she's just come out of the salon and always in her best clothes. She always manages to keep herself immaculately clean as well.

Would love to know how she manages it....I'm only on the yard for 5 mins and I'm filthy!

Me....I wear old jogging bottoms ( jodphurs if I'm gonna ride), an old t shirt or hoody( depending on weather!) and my riding boots which I change for wellies when I get there.

I don't care what I look like when I'm on the yard, and neither does my horse

Do ur uggs not get wrecked? i wudnt dare go near my horse with my uggs on, i dont want sh*t all over them lol, i dont intend on paying another £160 to get em wrecked in 10 mins!

Never wear makeup to the yard. It depends how busy I am to what I wear to the yard - normally if I go straight from work I'm in a decent pair of jeans, and a Joules/Ariat style top. I nearly always have my Dubarry's on as I practically live in them, and can either walk through a muddy field, or jump on a horse and ride in them - easier than keeping about four sets of shoes/wellies/boots in the car! On a weekend I am normally in jodhs and dubarry's. I have been known to go to the yard in my Uggs, but only because I have had to pop in on my way back from somewhere else, and I always keep pair of wellies at the yard in case the place is too muddy.

I have done the horses in my going out stuff but only as a needs must ie tea time feeds on the way out I have OCD about driving somewher to drive back on myself and the horses are half way between home and my boyfriends house.

Alos its quite a regular occurance to see me in my work skirt wellies and a long waxed riding mac on winter evenings afterwork - I hate getting changed in my car ! I don't ride like that tho lol and my makeup and hair will look a state by the time I get home !

Well I have bene known to give the horses breakfast in my PJ's... (they are across the road from my house on our private yard so nobody else around!). I usually wear tracksuit bottoms, a shabby old jumper and wellies! For riding I simply swap the wellies for some old jod boots or muckers and fold my long socks over my trousers up to my knees. I know I look ridiculous but as long as Im comfy, I dont care! Id HATE to be on a livery and actually have to dress for it!!

At this time of year, jeans, teeshirt, sweater and however many fleeces it takes to be warm, trainers or boots, plus hat and gloves if I need to. Down to the teeshirt yesterday because it was warm.

In winter, all of the above plus the most unflattering quilted coveralls ever, PLUS a heavy canvas jacket on top sometimes, neck warmers are essential to pull up over my face too. Takes about 5 minutes to get dressed to go outside.

Any hunky farmers that call round are also dressed like Michelin men so I don't worry about appearance!

I wear whatever is warmest! at the mo its not been too cold in the mornings so either jods or jogging bottoms, a vest and jumper and coat, and MH rider boots.

I wear my jeans, which I wipe my hands on so are always covered in some sort of s***e, and an old t-shirt and wellies. Jods if I'm riding. No point wearing my work clothes as I can't even say hi to Belle without getting dirty so I get changed when I arrive at work, though if I go up at lunchtime I just get covered in mud.

I admit I wear makeup but only ever foundation but only as I have horrible skin and if I didn't wear foundation I'd scare the other livery's away!

Mine are at home so normally my PJ's or manky old jogging bottoms/old jeans, and any top that's kicking about.

When we move and don't have them at home I shall begrudge having to get dressed to do them lol

I have just treated myself to a few tshirts in Oxfam that have WAISTS!!!! I am so sick of wearing my husbands cast off tops, I walk around looking like a lollipop perched on skinny jodphur clad legs. All my yard jumpers seem to be my cousins casts offs and she's a size 16 whereas I am a 12! Anyone seen that ad in Vogue for a perfume where a model in skintight jods, fab boots and a slinky backless top strides away with a dressage whip over her shoulder and the perfume hanging from the cord at the end of it? Well, I'd like to look like that, please Santa!
