I really have no idea what this is all about, can someone fill me in? I have seen a previous thread about it regarding the size of someones signature! Why on earth would that offend someone? I don't get it........

The term button-pushing means to report a post.

There is a size limit to signatures, when people join, they agree to abide by the rules. If they have a signature that is too large and is CAN affect how some peoples machines load etc....then they DO have the right to report it.

If others then get shirty about it, thinking people have no life, then they need to remember that they all agreed to abide by the rules, and that includes agreeing to the size of a signature.

Rules are rules, that is the long and short it it, no matter how 'trivial' something might seem.

It means they have reported a post by clicking on the little triangley thing on the left hand side, under the name :) I have only used it for reporting spam, advertising or abusive posts but as it's an unmoderated forum things need to be reported or they will not be noticed/dealt with :)

I see, thanks for explaining! I appreciate people may do this to report abusive posts, but the size of a photo - really?! I hadn't even though about how it would slow down a computers speed, there was me thinking it was my cr@ppy internet connection :)

Thats the thing though, right? The size is limited to let ALL users have a pleasant browsing experience. Not everyone is in a great area for connection, broadband or otherwise, and it can be a real pain if it's the pictures that are slowing it down.

Rules are rules....I think many rules suck, whatever they are, but you have to deal with them, however petty they seem.

I'll push your button ;)
