What does T stand for in BD????

You can apply to do a training section at any show and not accumulate points/change rider grouping.

So, imagine you wanted to do elementary on one horse, but not gain any points, thus putting you in Novice Open, you could do the training section.

lol i'm the only T in my classes tomo - i hope they're giving out rosettes (doubt they are but we'll prob get elem anyway ha ha ha)

FinnMcCoul is right - Plus u can use the sheets for the area festival Q!

I go training atm because i think my horse is going quite well, but i want to just train him in the environment (he's only done about 3 dressage shows in his life!) using the constructive criticism (should that be just criticism) on my sheet to improve a little before riding competitively in the class. (aka, give myself half a chance!) lmao

Well, it made sense in my mind at the time of entry! lol

If you have points at levels above, but are still eligible for lower levels, points wise and rider group wise, then you can ride in open section.

e.g. Rider in group 7 or 8 can ride in either restricted or open section of novice (but would prob prefer to ride in restricted!) as they only have points at novice level, or no points at all. A rider with points at elementary level would be group 6 and there fore can ride only in open section of novice but restricted elementary, and so on.

Clear? As mud...me thinks....

ahh right thanks for that !

Yup, I have been doing Training Elementary as I have 6 points left in Novice, dont want to do Open Novice.. too scary for me... so until I have used up my points... prob over the weekend, I shall continue in Elem. Training as I am a "beginner" in dressage as such... only had a year or so to remember the letters in the school!! tehe!! You can win rossettes and a couple of weeks ago I managed to win both elem. and got money too... this is of course up to the discretion of the people running the show. It is a way of getting experience but not running up your points so fast.. very good for people like me who need more experience!!

I stupidly did and Elementary and was third with 65% (ie got points) even though I had just affiliated and started doing Restricted Novice!. Still - c'est la vie' . In fact I think they are changing the regs arent they? My chap is a 15 year old ex hunter and I am a pensioner !

You have to read the rule book back to front, upside down, side to side!!!!Plus if you have a few people who have done before it helps as they give you tips on what not to do!!

I have to say I keep getting very confused with the Restricted, Open and Training sections... I don't know when you have to ride in the Open sections for things, it just scares me

For example, when do you have to ride in the Open sections for Prelim?
