Obviously I know what a whip is but just window shopping at some horses in H&H and come accross a few that have been hunting and it says 'has whipped' or 'whipped in' what does it mean? Lol or am I being a bit numb?

Many thanks I'm advanced :)

It means it has been used the member of hunt staff who assists the huntsman controlling the hounds or by a experianced member of the field who assists the hunt staff.
It should mean the horse is experianced and independant ( will go away easily from the main bady of followers ) so it should be a plus point however it could mean it has been ridden by a fit young man oblivious to danger who can jump on from the ground at speed .

Has been ridden at a hunt by the whipper in. The whipper in in one of the hunt staff.

The meaning is that the horse is particularly good out hunting and won't mind the hounds or leaving the others.

It could also mean that the horse is used to being at the front and doesn't particular appreciate being back in the field with the mere mortals, as my daughter found with our lad. :p
