Just a musing really.

I was reading this article:
http://www.buzzfeed.com/alanwhite/t...-on-earth-is-beautiful-and-hear?bffb&s=mobile

and it made me sob! The next thing I know, Bruno has come over to me, he's climbed onto my knee and tried to lick my face. I know he doesn't really know I'm crying but made me feel a bit better! Normally he's an independent toad and doesn't do cuddles until bed time!

What does your dog do?

I too read that article and it made me cry so very sad but lovely too.
My lab always climbs on me if I cry and licks my face- I think he is upset by the noise tho as if I make any kind of odd noise with my breathing he jumps on me- even if I just take really deep noisy breaths!! Having a cold is not fun with him around lol
He doesn't do this to my OH tho- obv he doesn't tend to cry like I do but he can breath however and gets no reaction!!

3 will look worried but not do anything but the other 1 will come sit on my lap and lick my face. To be fair that's all he ever wants to do anyway though!

Well, it used to be worried look, snuggling in for cuddles and licking away tears. Then I did a PhD and cried so much from the stress of it, he just used to look up, sigh a bit and go back to sleep!

If OH is stressed over work the dog will come and sit on him and stare at him until OH smiles then he’ll launch in with wags and licks (the dog, not OH), he’s a great at cheering you up (actually, both of them are, when I’ve had a stressful day at work as soon as I have OH and the dog with me everything feels better!)

I watched a programme where they had a stranger sit on a bench and cry. People then had to walk their dogs past.

The only only dog that not only approached the stranger but licked their face was a staffy. It was so sweet. The border collie did approach but then wandered off. The others ignored it.
