Elevator bridle with Loose Ring KK and Cavesson Noseband

WOW with Dressage Flaps with a Cotton Dressage Square.

Bandages or brushing boots on all fours.

When I eventually jump him again it will be with Jumping flaps on the saddle and with over reach boots on.

I believe in keeping tack as simple as possible...

Flo-
-Caverson bridle (sometimes use a mexican noseband)
-Bit, one of these (Myler comfort snaffle, NS 12mm lozenge snaffle, Straight bar pelham, american gag, waterford snaffle or eggbutt french link snaffle)
-GP saddle

Lottie-
-Caverson bridle
-Loose ring french link snaffle
-GP saddle or dressage saddle

I don't use martingales, really don't see the point in them. I occassionally use a breastplate on Flo though. And they sometimes wear boots if doing roadwork or fast work.

Oh and sometimes use a Western saddle

My horse currently wears...

kimberwick
caverson noseband
standing martingale

for all disciplines.
Although if I'm jumping over 2'6 I'll put a running martingale on instead.

I wish it could be another way but she is definitely happy in this combination so who am I to argue...

Mr T wears
Normal bridle with cavesson noseband, a loose ring french link snaffle (he's too strong for his happy mouth straight bar now!) and Standing Martingale to prevent the head in air f*cking off at 90 moments we had when riding him away. Ok he only did it twice I fell off it in two seconds and wasn't hurt, my work colleague stayed on for a minute going flat out round the school and bailed out as he wasn't going to stop and broke his ribs.
I ride him in a racing exercise saddle as I cannot afford to buy another one just yet and it aids clean unplanned dismounts. I don't use boots as he hasn't ever worn any and being Welsh D x he has a slight dish so he legs are never anywhere near each other and as he doesn't have shoes on behind there is no need for hind boots.

Just now he generally wears a waterford hanging cheek or his myler snaffle, with a loose cavesson. And he wears a towel, I've been too lazy to put a saddle on recently

Fudge wears an Ideal event saddle with one of the many numnahs I have, has an Albion KB comfort bridle (without crank or flash) with a NS fulmer snaffle and also a breast plate for me to cling to in wobbly moments
laugh.gif

Lady wears a Wintec 500 GP saddle with a cotton numnah (usually although I have some lovely velvet and stubben ones
laugh.gif
) and a Sabre cavesson show pony bridle (as it's the only one I could find at the time that fitted her little head) with a JP eggbutt snaffle.

I don't use any gadgets on either of mine apart from side reins when lunging and neither wear boots. I do have humane girths, bonded stirrup leathers and bent leg stirrup irons on both their tack

My horsies feel left out and want more clothes!

But to be fair we don't compete so there isn't so much need for protective gear. The horse I ride most wears a Fitform saddle with a nice sheepskin pad that I have adapted by making memory foam pads to put in the panels. And a rope halter with clip-on rope reins.
All 3 are in some form of treeless saddle, only one is regularly ridden in a bitted bridle, he has a simple bridle with no noseband and a happy mouth straight bar bit.
Maybe I should get some of those beads to hang round their necks...
