What does your horses name mean?

Faracat Hanoonah means affectionate

My horse is called Sabir i love the name, it means patience..... of which he has none!

Harvey means 'eager for battle or strong and worthy' - certainly can be eager for battle
Ottawa, his name i came up with because his sire is Ontario, and Ottawa is a province in Ontario.
Winnie apparently means 'fair and pure'
Bonnie, quite obviously means attractive or pretty.

I've had:
Isla - which means Scottish Island!

You're the second person to do that  It doesn't mean scottish island, it IS a Scottish island  Just as ebony doesn't mean dark wood - it is a dark wood  And eeyore doesn't mean donkey, he was a donkey! Why is that bugging me so much, it's obvious you don't mean it that way, but it's messing with my head :p (sorry, just indulge me...)

Roche -dunno

To me, Roche are a big pharmaceutical company :D

And Ozymandias doesn't mean King of Kings. He was the King of Kings.
Indulge away - I have a host of things that make me really really cross, so I sympathise!

True! I was distracted on that one by thinking "wow cool name " :D

It's insane how irrationally annoyed one can get about a comment on t'internet, isn't it

Wow, some of you have put a lot of thought into names. "Abba" was christened as such because mom went into labor during an Abba song. Her Reg name is Breathtaking because it had to be a b name and as the dam is Heartbreaking I like all the fillies to end in ing if possible.

Terri

My horses names:
Bella (means beautiful) yes it does suit her, she is easy on the eye, hard on everything else though :D Her registered name is Barney's Dancer. I don't know any Barney's so have no idea if she fits the bill as one of his dancers :D

I have a Barney, and can reassure you so long as she is female she'll fit in perfectly as one of his dancers! And he always has places available in his harem :D

Barney means consolation's son - not really sure what personality he should have with that?

Harvey means 'eager for battle or strong and worthy' - certainly can be eager for battle

One of ours is called Tofino (Sam at home!)- he is also by Ontario and I was told he was named after a town on Vancouver Island, British Columbia which is renowned as a whale watching area!

Not at all - I spend my life spitting mad about really silly things people have said on the interwebby thingie.

My new horse is called Joey - Means 'He will enlarge' or 'God will increase'...

... and he has. Bought him in November just turned 5 and a rug I purchased for him the day he got home, fitted well. Put it on him the other day and now almost too small!!! Lets hope thats his 'enlarge' over! Well size wise anyway!! He can continue to increase the amount of love and smiles he brings:-)

Well I took my 6yr old nephew down to see the pony & I told him " that's Magic"

When he got home he told his mum that "Aunty Tina has a horse that can make itself disapear"!!

I've got a Hector - in Greek mythology Hector was a Trojan prince and the greatest fighter for Troy in the Trojan war. He's quite brave I suppose. When I first got him called him 'Hector the Protector' until he shyed at a pheasant, got ready to make a dash for it and got his feet in a knot and fell on the floor! I was ejected from the saddle rapidly, fortunately he hasn't done it since!

I've also got Baron - title of nobility - nobility is a social class which possesses more acknowledged privilages than members of most other classes. I suppose he does think he above the rest but certainly doesn't get any privilages!!

Freckles name means..... er, Freckles and it suits he to a T... as she is spotty...

Harley, means...Spacious Meadow! but his proper name is Harlequin which mean 'variant of colour' and he is also spotty and has a blue and a brown eye, so suits him too...

Mine is named Sea Maus.

Sea is obvious, Maus is German for mouse (as in computor mouse I think) and is pronounced to rhyme with klaus. Maus was also the name of a German tank!

I'm not sure whether it suits him or not, but it's unusual which I don't mind. The main problem is that when competing no-one knows how to pronounce it!

His stable name is Seamus, simply because Sea Maus looks like Seamus without the gap in the middle!

My other pone in named Llanarth Curly Wurly, her breeders had a bit of a chocolate bar theme going . She is called Curly for short.

Grace means - All those things that remind us why life is worth living.
Heaven on earth. A star to light your life.

Yep definitely ticks the above boxes!

Also means - Elegance, loveliness, and beauty. She has all bar the Elegance but that will come in time... I am sure lol xx

Tetley ... Must be because he likes a cuppa
Bubbles ... Either after the two bubbles in her blaze or maybe because she is a fat little ginger? (only kidding, she is nit fat at all ;-)

Paddy when googled is ' primarily a derogatory term for a male of irish decent' I didn't name him!
His show name is Simply Paddy I wanted a unique name and so far he is the only one registered BD, well a couple of years back he was.
